DAY 1 - CRAFT ACTIVITY: Whale Craft
Construct a model of a whale and then act out the story of Yunus (a). Be sure to say the dua of Yunus (a).
(References for each day’s activity can be found after this week’s guide.)
DAY 2 - KITCHEN SCIENCE ACTIVITY: Flavored Water
Experiment with how different flavors get infused in water over time, especially cucumbers Yunus (a) had. Say Bismillah before eating and drinking!

DAY 3 - ART ACTIVITY: Boat Art

Create an artistic rendering of a boat and say the dua of Nuh (a) before pretending to set sail!

DAY 4 - ACTION SONG: “Salaam - Gotta go Pray!”
Read and Listen: Nuh and the Boat of Animals*
Sing a fun and silly song to practice saying salaam, to learn the names of the 5 daily prayers, and to know the order of the prayers.

DAY 5 - ADVENTURE ACTIVITY: Singing with the Birds
Go outside and listen to birds singing. Then remember how wonderful Allah’s creation is by singing and saying your own dhikr (remembrances)!

DAY 6 & 7
SHARE SOME COOL SAYINGS YOU LEARNED ABOUT THIS WEEK- AND ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVITY!
Craft Activitiy: Day 1
WHALE CRAFT
•Use an old sock and some googly eyes to create a ‘ whale’ puppet that children can operate with their hand.
•Use the whale puppet to dramatically tell the story of Yunus (A) being swallowed by a whale!
Kitchen Science: Day 2
FLAVORED WATER - CITRUS SWIRL
Supplies: 1/2 cup sliced cucumber, 1/2 sliced lemon, 1/2 sliced lime, 1/2 sliced orange, and two quarts water.
Directions:
1.Combine all ingredients in a large glass carafe or pitcher. Cover and refrigerate 12-24 hours before serving. Exercise beautiful patience to wait until all the flavors have settled in nicely. Give it a final swirl, serve, and enjoy!
Art Activities: Day 3
BOAT ART
•This activity works best with watercolor paper, but regular paper will work also.
•Use crayons that are not water-soluble such as Crayola to draw and decorate a boat in the center of the paper.
•Use watercolors to draw the water underneath the boat, and the storm/clouds/sky above the boat.
•Because the crayons’ wax and watercolours will not mix, the result is quite stunning!

Suggested Melody:“Where is Thumbkin”
Verse 1: Where is thumbkin? Where is thumbkin? (hide hands behind back)
Here I am! (show right thumb) Here I am! (show left thumb)
Asalaamu Alaikum (wave thumb) , Walaikum asalaam (wave other thumb), I gotta go pray fajr (hide thumb), okay me too! (hide other thumb)
Repeat for:
• Verse 2: pointer finger/duhr
• Verse 3: middleman/asr
• Verse 4: ring-finger/maghreb
• Verse 5: pinkie/isha
Adventure Activities: Day 5
SINGING WITH THE BIRDS
•This activity ideally happens early in the morning, in a quiet place where children can hear birds singing.
•Teach children one or two morning/evening adhkar and have them IMAGINE the birds singing the praises of Allah!
•Have the children join in, reciting their adhkar as they listen to the birds singing outside.
