In the Footsteps of the Famous Big Game Hunters Courteney boots follow the original concept of the “veldtschoen” (trans. bush shoe), speciﬁcally developed for the African veld by Dutch Voortrekkers and Pioneers. Like its predecessor, today’s version of the handmade bush shoe represents extremely robust and practical footwear, offering excellent comfort on the rugged terrain.

Keen to realise his vision of the perfect Safari footwear, the English shoemaker master John A. Rice, founder and CEO of the Courteney Boots Company, spent several years optimising the original construction.

The optimisation of the rubber compound led to an invaluable advantage: Its tyre grip sole allows for soundless stalking – in the African bush and beyond.

Due to its elaborate production and its exclusive material, the African originals have long become a lifestyle-legend themselves. All Courteney boots are made from superior buffalo leather and reﬁned with soft Impala leather to support the more sensitive parts of the foot such as the ankles. Genuine gameskin gives every Courteney boot a unique colour and leather texture and thus an utterly individual character.
