Crispi® Sport lies within the European creative epicenter of the outdoor footwear industry: Montebelluna Italy. Here, below the foothills of the Dolomites, Alessandro Marcolin decided it was time to take his shoemaking passion to the next level. His vision for shoes would be based on artisan values infused with the latest in production and material technologies. The year was 1975 when he opened up shop in the small hamlet of Crespignaga.

Early on it was clear Crispi®’s identity would be characterized as a laboratory for mountain footwear. To that end, Marcolin’s first order of business was to create a more anatomically-shaped last. By thoughtfully conforming it to the multi-dimensional surfaces of the foot, his new last would prove more comfortable each and every step. Leather ski boots were the first recipients of the new last along with other Crispi® innovations. Leather gave way to injected plastics and new production technologies. As time went on, Crispi®’s focus on niche footwear like high altitude climbing and telemark racing boots, reinforced Marcolin’s goal. That is, creating a no compromise, product-driven footwear company utilizing the best available production technology. Word spread quickly among the cognoscenti of the outdoor community, acknowledging Crispi®’s attention to detail and technical know-how. It wasn’t long before the demand for product reached the shores of North America. Fittingly, Crispi® North America would settle in one of perennially ranked best outdoor places to reside in the US, Bend Oregon. Bend’s proximity to Smith Rock’s world class rock climbing, Deschutes River boating and the Cascade’s for mountaineering, hiking and all manner of snow play, made this the logical place to establish Crispi® NA’s foothold. Crispi® NA’s mission is to provide customer service at a level synonymous with the celebrated brand’s coveted status. From the front office, to the nearby distribution center, to the growing number of outdoor sport ambassadors, Crispi® NA’s dedicated team is focused on providing the kind of support one would expect from a world class brand. Among the initiatives Crispi® NA has for 2012-2013 are both consumer and trade print ads to help bring awareness to the North American market and to promote sell-through for the dealer network. The ads will focus on Crispi®’s unique technology showcasing the Crispi® Difference.

In its research for constant evolution and innovation, Crispi® has studied and projected this technical solution to maintain the comfort for the foot even in the most difficult descents. To replace the classic toe-cap, in its mountaineering line, Crispi® uses a special constructive cage which besides being structural for the shoe, gives comfort and protection to the foot, while walking downhill.

Crispi® SKELETON FRAME - Technology and Torsional Stability The Crispi® Skeleton Frame was born from the experience developed by the company in the Telemark skiing world, where Crispi® has been world champion for years. The characteristics of a Telemark boot of the latest generation are maximum stability while twisting, together with the proper amount of flex: both these qualities are ideal for a trekking shoe. The C.S.F. system, thanks to two lateral supports, allows the maximum torsional control ensuring the best foot flexibility. The C.S.F. system achieves levels of performance usually reached by high altitude footwear with much lower weight and more comfortable walking.

Crispi® CROSSBOW FRAME - Technology and Comfort

Crispi® Crossbow Frame brings innovation to the shock absorbing system sole by associating the request for stability, comfort and technology in a high quality product. This plastic insert follows a particular wave-shaped module which offers perfect stability, sustaining the foot and, at the same time, absorb the shock provoked during the walk. Thanks to this function similar to a crossbow, this insert improves the braking even in the most difficult terrains.

These unique characteristics, not previously available together, provide you with secure footing on the most challenging of terrain, without sacrificing durability.

FRASSON MULTIFUNCTION®

The special grip of this sole is due to the particular combination of three elements: in the rubber tread the rolls are made of a special abrasive mix and of rings made of high tech tissue which maximises the “grip” in any surfaces. Comparative tests in laboratory have underscored that this sole adheres 20% on the ice more than a traditional sole. Other tests which were made in baked clay and steel have demonstrated that there is a more successful result: a 25% and 32%.
