WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF 6x ZOOM?

6x ZOOM 2nd GENERATION

Zoom describes the adjustable magnification range in optical instruments. The greater the zoom factor, the greater this range. The lowest magnification is characterized by a large field of view, while the highest magnification enables razorsharp target acquisition. With a 6x zoom therefore you have the best of both worlds: the largest possible field of view combined with the finest possible detail achievable with a zoom rifle scope.

Producing the best optics requires a high level of experience and technological expertise. This means that technical developments such as extending the zooming range will not affect the core function or compromise the excellent optical quality of a rifle scope.

An illuminated reticle that foresees your next move: With the new SWAROLIGHT technology, the reticle is switched on when you move into firing position, saving time and energy. You can now focus on hunting.

NEW SWAROLIGHT – SMART ILLUMINATION An automatic switch-on and switch-off feature recognizes via an inclination sensor whether the rifle scope is in shooting position. When the firearm is not in the firing position the illuminated reticle automatically switches off. When moving into a shooting position, the illuminated reticle is immediately ready for use thanks to SWAROLIGHT. You can now simply focus on your target. SWAROLIGHT works on any firearm. You can also shoot without the reticle being illuminated.

In addition the use of state-of-the-art electronics not only saves energy but also considerably increases the operating life of the battery. During the night from 450 to 1400 hours and during the day from 120 to 180 hours.

As a rule, rifle scopes are adjusted to be parallax-free at 109 yds (100 m) so that, at this distance, the target observed through the rifle scope and the reticle are located in the same plane. At longer distances, the target is not displayed in the same plane as the reticle. Aiming errors may occur if the hunter fails to look exactly through the center of the eyepiece.

Using the lock-in position at the 109 yds (100 m) mark, the parallax turret is easy to adjust – particularly at dusk or dawn. You can lock and adjust the parallax turret for typical parallax correction at 109 yds (100 m) simply by feel.

The parallax may affect the impact point particularly in the case of high-magnification rifle scopes, which are frequently used for long-range shooting. For this reason, the highmagnification Z6(i) and Z5 models are fitted with a 3rd turret parallax. This ensures a parallax-free image even at longer distances. The parallax turret can be operated quickly even in the firing position. It is quite simple to set the desired shooting distance on the turret.

BALLISTIC TURRET

Firearms, ammunition, and optical instruments have become much more accurate in recent years, making long-distance shooting technically feasible. Nevertheless, the requirements on the hunter are high and, in addition to accurate determination of the distance, this calls for solutions that provide an accurate aiming point to enable accurate longrange target shots. The SWAROVSKI OPTIK ballistic turret (BT) allows you to â&#x20AC;&#x153;stay on the targetâ&#x20AC;? when sighting in at different distances.

Simple, accurate, and practical You can assemble the ballistic turret yourself in a few easy steps and adjust it accurately to your firearm. You can change the distances selected yourself at any time. There are other distance settings available in addition to the four distances marked. Our own specially developed ballistic program will calculate for you the necessary values (number of clicks) for the distances you desire. The alignment nose on the ballistic turret indicates whether or not you are using the basic setting. You can also locate this quite easily in the twilight.

SPEED COUNTS ESPECIALLY WHEN HUNTING The SLC 42 HD not only offers excellent optical performance. The focusing mechanism also enables particularly fast and highly precise adjustments, covering all the required hunting focus settings in less than half a turn.

PRECISE FOCUSING MECHANISM – FROM NEAR TO FAR IN AN INSTANT The focusing wheel with its unique combination of hard and soft components guarantees stability and grip, whatever the weather. The focusing mechanism is particularly smooth and tolerance free, making operation comfortable and precise in all situations, even when wearing gloves. Less than half a turn sets the SLC HD to any hunting distance, enabling you to quickly and purposefully obtain a sharp image for reliably identifying your target. Whether in a cold climate or during a safari under the burning desert sun – the short, precise movements of the focusing mechanism provide crystal-clear images at any distance. What’s more, the focusing mechanism

enables a correction for defective vision of at least 6 dpt. It also offers built-in dioptric compensation of +/- 4 dpt to compensate for different visual acuity in each eye. This enables the binoculars to be adjusted to individual levels of visual acuity when used without eyeglasses.

MAGNESIUM HOUSING – LIGHT AND RUGGED Every ounce counts, especially during long periods spent observing when hunting from a blind or in the mountains. An innovative magnesium housing helps to keep the weight as light as possible without compromising on ruggedness or optical quality.
