Härkila clothing is made for shooting – and more than that: it is designed for precisely the type of shooting you engage in. Whether it’s with rifle or shotgun, stalking or from a hide, wild boar or pheasants, each in dividual detail has been conceived with the objective of providing you with the best shoot enjoyment p ossible. Nothing is left to chance with regard to purpose – the size and position of the pockets, the design of the zips, reinforcements and closures. We think about the details so you don’t have to. 2-way zip. Zip that zips both ways for easy adjustment of the jacket when taking up demanding sitting positions.
Waterproof zip. Zip protected by tight-fitting, water resistant lamination.
Ventilation. Ventilation under the arms and/or at the back of the thighs.
Quick load strap. A strap from the hand warmer pocket ensures that the cartridge pocket stays open during shooting.

Detachable hood. A detachable hood makes the jacket suitable for a variety of shooting seasons.

SHOOTING CLOTHING LAYERING FOR OPTIMUM COMFORT
The layering principle makes it easy and quick to adjust to the weather and your level of activity. Temperature is regulated by adding or removing a layer, and the fabrics transport moisture away from the body while simultaneously protecting from wind and rain. The three layers:
Outer layer, or shell The outer layer protects against wind and rain. The layer also needs to be breathable, so that moisture is transported away instead of condensing on the inside of the fabric.
Mid layer – also called the insulating layer The layer that insulates and optimises moisture transport to the outer layer, to keep the body dry and at the right temperature.

GORE-TEX® TECHNOLOGY
– WHEN WATERPROOF ISN'T PROOF ENOUGH Not all waterproof membranes are created equal. Membranes can be categorised as waterproof if they can keep water out at a water column pressure of 1.0 m. But not all "waterproof" membranes are good enough for shooting. In fact, you subject your clothes to a water column pressure of 2.0 m just by sitting, and when you kneel, the pressure is 10.0 m. GORE-TEX® fabrics can withstand a water column pressure of 28.0 m and are therefore 28 times more waterproof than the international standard. Shooting can be a demanding and unpredictable activity, and you may have to sit still in bad weather or lie down in the wet for long periods. To keep warm and dry in the wet, you need to be sure of the quality of the membrane in your garment. For peace of mind, best buy Härkila. We use only GORE-TEX® membranes.

THE PRO HUNTER STORY
PRO HUNTER Pro Hunter is a shooting legend and Härkila’s bestselling range over the years.
The Pro Hunter story began in 1992, when Härkila decided to develop a set of apparel for professional shooters. The design was to be hardwearing enough to last for many years and also incorporate all the features that the discerning shooter would need for a tough life in the Swedish forest. This led to the introduction of the Lapmark suit – in the same material used by the Swedish military. This fabric was very hardwearing, quiet in use and withstood sparks – very important when sitting around the campfire. The problem with the Lapmark suit was that it was only water-resistant, not waterproof. Because of this, it could be heavy to wear when the rain was really pouring down.
The solution arrived in 2005 with the introduction of Pro Hunter. Pro Hunter was designed using a new material – Airtech™ – which, combined with the new GORE-TEX®-membrane, made the suit waterproof, wind-resistant and dirt-repellent. Since then, Pro Hunter has been developed for new types of shooting and shooters, since the Pro Hunter story is also the story of continual innovation. Pro Hunter is now available in a leather version, a ladies version and, as the latest newcomer, stretchable trousers with the same durability as the original Pro Hunter model. The Legend Lives On.

APPROVED BY GORE-TEX® All Härkila boots are tested and approved by GORE-TEX® for 100% waterproofing and breathability.
Approved by GORE-TEX® – water test in walking simulator Materials used – leather, sewing thread, shoe laces – must be waterproof, since any water absorbed will travel towards the boot’s edge and at worst into the footwear. The materials are tested in GORE’s Walking Simulator, where the boot is placed on an artificial and flexible foot fitted with sensors. The boot walks 200,000 paces in a water bath; this corresponds to about 500 km, and materials are tested for both water repellency and leaks.
Approved by GORE-TEX® – breathability test Furthermore, the footwear is tested for breathability and foot climate. In GORE’s climate chamber, the boot is placed on an artificial foot that sweats like a real foot, and moisture transpiration through the footwear is registered at different temperatures.
Approved by GORE-TEX® – membrane test in rotation cylinder At Härkila we also conduct our own membrane test directly from the production line. Here the boot is filled with water and placed in a metal cylinder. The cylinder spins at high speed for up to 60 minutes. The water is pressed against the boot’s outer shell, revealing any leaks. Härkila tests the daily production by this method and any defects result in an immediate correction to the manufacturing.

VIBRAM® – YOUR CONNECTION TO EARTH Vibram® is the world's leading manufacturer of slip-resistant boot soles. The company’s name is a contraction of Vitale Bramani. In the years 1935-37, Bramani developed the pioneering Vibram® sole, which was the first in the world to be designed specially for demanding outdoor activities such as mountaineering and shooting. Bramani’s sole was a thick rubber sole with indentations which revolutionised the boot’s stability and grip.

Vibram® Fire&Ice™. Designed for extreme situations and provides traction in both low and high temperatures (from -20°C to +250°C).
• In 1954, an expedition reached the summit of K2 for the first time – this was an Italian expedition and all its members were equipped with Vibram® soles. • It was a tragic accident that spurred Bramani to develop the new climbing sole. In 1935, six of Bramani’s friends died climbing in the mountains, and it was thought that the inadequate footwear of the day was at fault.
UPPER DURABILITY AND COMFORT Our feet are immensely important to our well-being. The temperature of the feet is relatively low and this makes them very vulnerable to the cold. Furthermore, our feet carry the entire body and are often the part that tires the quickest. This is why footwear is crucial and shooting boots in particular must meet a number of stringent demands. Not only must they be hardwearing, insulating and breathable. They must also be lightweight and fit perfectly. Härkila uses lightweight CORDURA® which offers excellent durability in a lighter boot. Of course, Härkila boots also come in durable and insulating natural materials such as full-grain leather, nubuck and extra breathable suede. Lacing is very important for insulation and comfort, and Härkila's lacing system is fitted with movable lace holes, strong lace locks and hooks. For shooters who want to lace their boots quickly, the Boa® system provides even lacing with a few turns of its simple closing mechanism.

INSOLES The insole ensures dry and comfortable feet, optimal fit and the correct foot angle. At Härkila we employ a special adjuster. The adjuster is an insole that insulates and ensures an optimum fit. It can be used, for example, when you only need a thin sock. Full-grain leather is the strongest available. Full-grain leather typically has a somewhat slippery surface but may also have an embossed texture. Nubuck leather is full-grain leather that has been polished and treated with oils or waxes to make it quieter. Suede is a slightly thinner leather for increased flexibility and breathability. Quick-drying and very quiet.
