FOREWORD On Monday 6th of July I visited Mode City & Interfilière Paris where nearly 280 exhibitors presented a cutting edge, aesthetic and innovative range of products for intimates, beachwear and performance.

Jennifer Wigham of trend forecasting agency Concepts Paris presented us the main trend directions during the 1,5 hour trend presentation.

The General Forum was dedicated to the latest trends for the Autumn/Winter 16-17 season. The four main trends are: # Enchanted # Charmed # Liberated # Empowered

The Momenti di Passione area presented a sneak preview of trends for summer 2017 containing the following key elements: the 1960s, traditional crafts, festivals, gardens, horticulture and art.

In this trend report I have combined the trends for A/W 2016-2017 and Summer 2017 which I spotted at Mode City & Interfilière Paris, July 2015.

1. ENCHANTED

Enchanted is a spectacular and festive option enlivened with

accents of fairy tale, ideal for surface decoration and romantic patterns, which was inspired by winter forests with their amazing light nuances.

Colours come from deep in the earth’s crust with its wonderful hues and go all the way to the cosmos. Expect autumnal motifs and organic patterns. Colours include sweet chestnut, orchid, frost and chocolate. # Harvest Red

The Charmed theme represents a transition from summer to

winter. This theme features essential small scale patterns, leafy embroideries and prints of birds and butterflies. Take a look at

giant blossoms and collages with flowers, birds and insects and fabulous fruit motifs.

Fabrics are dyed in cool shades of blue. We’ll see a revisit

of Central European folk art with delightful inspirations for embroideries and prints and colours that pop. # The sound of music # Red & pink
