My Stockholm Gröna Lund At Djurgården in Stockholm there is an amusement park called “Gröna lund”. The fun fair opens for the summer season in March April and will be open until September. The easiest way to get there is ferry from ”Slussen” or bus from the centre. There are a lot of people who come there to have fun and ride the rollercoasters and win a big chocolate castors. You can walk around in to the ghost house if you like a scary time. You can buy a ticket called a golden card and if you buy that you can visit the amusement park the whole season as many times you want! The card is rather expensive. Sometimes they have concerts there, which you can go to if you like. You can also eat cotton candy, hot dog, lollipops and go to different restaurants. Amanda 11 years old
The Globe is a white and round arena. Looking like a big football. It is in Stockholm. At that arena you can watch hockey, listen to different music arrangements, look at ice skating, horse shows and athletics competitions. You can watch a hockey game. There is room for 14 000 people. It is the team Djurg책rdens home court. There is a gondola from the ground to the top on the outside of the Globe. The name is Sky view and you see a lot of Stockholm at the top. It takes 20 minutes to go up and down. There is also a red Swedish cottage placed close to the top. That is a symbol of Sweden placed just very near the modern technic building the Globe. There are many carousels at the big amusement park at Djurgürden. It’s very fun to go there. When I and my best friend was there for the first time I was 7 years old. You have to take the small ferry from Slussen to get there or a bus from the city centre. It is very scary at the ghost house and there are a lot of ghosts who scares me! They are dressed as monsters and lots of other things that are scary. They paint their faces. It costs a lot to buy the entrance fee, but it is worth it! Dina 11 years old
“Mariatorget” is a very nice square at Södermalm. There is also a big fountain that is called “Tors Fiske”, Thor’s fishing. During the summer there is water spouting out of the fountain. At the summer you can go there and have some ice cream at the kiosk. “Mariatorget” gives me memories from when I was very little and lived at “Ragvaldsgatan”.. Every Monday after school I have aikido training. On the way there I always walk through the square. My best friend also lives there. Sometimes every Thursday at four o clock after school, I go to visit him. But that’s only when my parents have a really late meeting. At summer you can also have a nice picnic at the square. It is really close to my school and pretty close to “Södra Station”, South Station, and also close to “Slussen”.

In Stockholm there is a place called ”Gröna lund”. It was established 1883 and it is the oldest amusement park in Sweden. Gröna Lund is located at Djurgården. It is divided in two different parts, small Gröna Lund and large Gröna lund. The small one is for younger children. The most popular carousel is called “Nyckelpigan” in English that means Lady Bug. They also have a small house called “ Petsson and Findus world”. In large Gröna Lund there are about 20 carousel . My favourites' are Twister and the Jet line. They also have a horror house called “ house of nightmares “ . They also have a house called “ fun house “. It is a rather large house and you go through different parts. When you reach to the end you can choose to go down or sit mat and go down a slide. Gröna lund also have different games where you can win different things. They have many restaurants and they also have the worlds highest star flyer. The oldest carousel is “The Flying Mat“, the youngest carousel is “ Eclipse “ . They also have a stage called “big stage “ There are many artists performing in the summer . Ella E 11 years old
It was the start of the summer, me and my friends went to a “One Direction” concert. We found our seats. We were there a good time before start. 30 minutes before the concert should start, we had to go on the toilet! It was a very long queue so we were really stressed. We were done at the toilet, after a while and went back to our seats. “One Direction” came out and the whole arena started to scream. When half of the concert was done, we began to cry of joy. The concert was over and we went home. This was my little story, hope you liked it! Friends Arena opened at 27th of October 2012 and it cost 2, 8 billion to build. Friends Arenas former name was Swedbank Arena. The reason was that Swedbank, which since 2007 is the name of the sponsor, gave away the name of the rights of the organization Friends Foundation. A lot of celebrities have played there. For instance Kiss, Bruce Springsteen, Swedish House Mafia One Direction, 5 Seconds of summer and many football teams. Bruce Springsteen has the attendance record of 56,840,000 people. Ella P 11 years old
”Gröna lund” is an amusement park that you can find in Stockholm. There are many rollercoasters and restaurants and there are also many chocolate wheels where you can win a big chocolate bar. ”Gröna lund” has different parts, one is for younger people and another is for older ones. There is a house which is called ”the Ghost House” and it felt scary the first time I went in there. You walk around in a dark house and suddenly a ghost comes.

”Skansen” is a recreation park at Djurgården. At Skansen, they have lots of animals, food, parks, concerts and things like that. People from all over the world come to visit this park, especially in summer-time. Skansen opened the 11th October 1891. Once I and my family went there and we took the ferry to Djurgården from Slussen, then we walked all the way to the Skansen-Entrance, it takes about 5 minutes. When we came in to Skansen we first ate some lunch upon the Skansen-Mountain, I chose some pancakes with apple jam and cinnamon. It was very delicious! When the lunch was ready we went to, a tiny place in the middle of Skansen built for children. We looked at all the baby animals that were at the “baby” Skansen, birds, snakes, cats, hens, frogs, insects and fishes. Then we went to the seals that were right beside. They were just about to feed the seals so we looked when they were eating. After the feeding-show we went to the monkeys. They had only lemurs and baboons. I really like the baboons because we were watching them for 20 minutes! Right next to the baboons we headed to the reptile-cave. Filip 11 years old
I’m going to tell about Söder torn the place where I live now. It’s a huge tower that’s at the part of Stockholm called Södermalm very close to the middle of Stockholm, the Capital of Sweden. The tower has twenty five floors and it made out of dried clay and has at hat that’s made out of steel. The apartments have French balconies. Fun things you can do in this building it’s to take a bath in pool or have a disco at the top. But most tourists don’t look at this like a beautiful building. If you look out the windows you can see a park with green trees and path leading to “Södra station” the shuttle train station. The other direction leads to the market square, Medborgarplatsen. There you find lots of restaurants and a shopping centre and during the winter there is ice on the square for the kids to skate. Frank 11 years old
The arena looks like a diamond and the arena was built in 2013. It is very close to the Globe Arena. It has 37 500 seats in the arena. I watched a match together with Rickard between the team “Bajen” from Stockholm and a team from Östersund, the north of Sweden We saw Hammarby IF do four goals and Östersund did one goal. The match was 90 minutes long. It’s was a lot of people there and several watched and supported the teams. The Hammarby fans wanted the team to win. I bought a coke and snacks in the break. And after the match I was happy and my friend Rickard was happy too. Geng 11 years old
Friend’s arena is my favourite arena. The team AIK and the Swedish national team play football there. My first match I watched there was against the team called ¨the Syrians¨. The match ended 0-0 but it felt like AIK lost because one player shot in the goalpost. Another match, a player got a goal when he did a bicycle kick. Friend’s arena has many concerts too e.g. ¨Bruce Springsteen¨ and ¨One direction¨. Friends arena have 50,000 seats for spectators during sporting events and 65 000 can be there at concert events. The top one is when the national team of Sweden met England and 49 967 spectators were there. When Sweden met Portugal there were 49 766 spectator that watched. Julius 11 years old
Torö stenstrand is a popular place for surfers because the waves are very high there. To get there you take either bus or car. You must drive one hour on the highway towards Nynäshamn, a town south of Stockholm. It is a beautiful place for me and my family. One memory from Torö stenstrand was when my best friend and I had a stone tower contest. We tried to build as high as possible. I have also been with my family to a restaurant called “Ankarudden”. This place doesn’t exist no longer because of a fire a month after we ate there. After the visit to the restaurant we drove to Torö Stenstrand and the sunset was fantastic. Me and my sister wanted to feel the temperature of the water and it was ice cold. The water never gets warm because of the movement of the sea. Gerda 11 years old
In Stockholm there is a place with several funfairs. It is located at Djurgården and is called Gröna Lund. You go the fastest way there with a ferry from Slussen. Gröna Lund is divided into two parts, large and small Gröna Lund. There are a lot of kiosks where you can by cotton candy, hot dogs, pizzas and popcorn etc. At the small Gröna Lund there are eight carousels. At the large part, there are twenty. My favourite merry-go-round is “Insane” and “Free fall”. We have the highest star flyer in the world it is called Eclipse. It is 125 m high and you have a very beautiful view of Stockholm at the top. Once when I went on Eclipse it blew so much so after my ride they shut it down for a while. It was really scary. The first time Gröna lund opened was in 1883. So it has been around for a while. At ¨Skrapan¨ game shop they’ve got a super rare Zelda doll. But they’re a little expensive. Another store is called USA candy where you can buy the tastiest candy ever! Especially the jelly-beans, over 200 tastes! But it’s really expensive too. If you want candy you can go to Vapiano, where you can get free candy every time you buy a pizza! And the pizza at Vapiano tastes like heaven! And don’t forget Honeycomb, they make something that does not sound that exiting but it tastes good, frozen yoghurt! My favourite store at Skrapan is where you can get a sandwich for not even 60 Swedish crowns and that shop is called: SUBWAY Kalle 11 years old
Now I will tell you about the square Medborgarplatsen at Södermalm. There is a library there. At the library it’s also a theatre. When I was small I went to the theatre. It was a lot fun. In the winter there is an ice rink there. Often in winter time I went skating there. It is very fun even if I fell on the ice. Next to the theatre there is a swimming baths. When I was small I went to swimming school there. In December our class went to the swimming pool to do a swimming test. Everyone was very nervous. Next to Medborgarplatsen it’s a market hall. The market hall is called ¨Söderhallarna¨. It is many shops there, like ¨Indiska¨ and ¨the English shop¨. Kelly 11 years old
Skansen is an open-air museum. I love Skansen because there I was on my first The FOOO concert. And there are a lot of animals and I love animals! I have been there a lot of times. One time when I was there a big blue peacock started to run towards me, I screamed and it felt scary, but then my father came and chased it away. After that we went and bought ice cream. I took vanilla ice cream and my dad chose strawberry. And then we went home, I was very tired when we got home. Leona 11 years old
“Tanto” is a big park in the corner of Södermalm. In the park many squirrels and doves live. The place is full of hills and valleys. It is very nice and when you walk there in the afternoon, maybe you will see a soft brown light shining down at the small gravel way. Further down in the valley you can see a football field called “Tanto BP”. “BP”means in English ball field. I use to play there. One time when I went there to play with my friends Julius and Svante, we met our friends Geng and Rickard. They asked us to play with them. Of course we said yes. Then we played the rest of the day. After that we went home. On the way, we passed the big arena Zinken. It’s very big. My favourite Swedish team Hammarby plays there in many different sports. They play bandy there during winter time and football in other seasons. Max 11 years old
“Medborgarplatsen”, a square at Södermalm, is a wonderful place. There is an ice cream van that is parked there the whole summer. At the other side of the road it’s a park that I used to play in when I was younger. In the centre of Medborgarplatsen there is a big grass pit where you can eat your ice cream. There is also a mall called Söderhallarna. Outside there is a restaurant called Snaps. On the left side of Söderhallarna it’s an indoor swimming pool. The square may not look that nice on the picture but it’s one of the sunniest places in Södermalm when it’s sunny. In the Summer time it’s a lot off seagulls around. Rory 11 years old
“Tanto lunden“ is a beautiful park at Södermalm in Stockholm. In “Tanto” there is a large football and a skate arena called “Zinken”. On the left side of Zinken it is a road. Further down on the same street there is a football ground where Hammarby plays bandy in winter time. My football team ”Reymers”, plays matches and have their training there. In wintertime we don’t play football, instead we just jog around on the green hills and in forest. In school we have a jogging race in this park every summer. The mini golf field is right at the beach. I like to swim there. One summer I got 40 hits on the mini golf. It is my record! I am very good at mini golf. Many years ago I played football at another place called, “Långholmen” and to get there I rode my bike through the park Tanto. It was wonderful! Rickard 11 years old
Krakel Spektakel is a kindergarten. When I was little I loved to be there. In the summer the garden was full of flowers, spices and a big cherry tree. In the morning we got freshly baked bread. All my siblings went there when they were small so I started there to. There was a large apple tree, we climbed on. We sang a lot of kid songs and danced. After lunch we picked up mattresses that we all should sleep on while a teacher read to us. Close to the kindergarten yard is a nice park where we often went. We had many party´s there but I only remember one of them. It was a Halloween party, we drank juice and ate buns. In one of the houses there lived a cat that used to come and sit on the fence to the kindergarten yard but when we got near the cat it ran away. When my siblings went to the kindergarten the chef was ill for some days. Then my grandfather came and cooked the food. Sara 11 years old
” Tanto BP ” is a very nice football field in Stockholm. My team plays there nearly every weekend. There is a kiosk there where you can buy soda and food. Something you need after a match. I was there for a whole week on a football camp to learn to play even better. It’s a pretty big court but not like old Trafford. I think Tanto BP is the best football field in Stockholm. My team train around the court in winter. One of my favourite matches is the one we won 6-1 and I scored two goals. One of the goals was a goal that first hit a player from the other team before it scored the net. Svante 11 years old
I will tell you about a park called Vasaparken. Vasaparken is a very nice and big park. When I was a little kid my favourite park in Stockholm was Vasaparken. I love to pick up acorn that was lying on the ground and to play in a big truck of wood there. I remember one time I was so happy because I have succeed to climb up to the top of tree. Many people like to have picnic on the lawn there. The trampolines are definitely most fun for kids in Vasaparken. The park is located in the part of Stockholm called Vasastan. Vanja 11 years old
“Gröna lund” is an amusement park at Djurgården, one of the islands close to the centre of Stockholm. It was built in 1883 and at first there were only rich people that could afford going there. Nowadays everyone could be there if you pay the entrance fee. I like to eat at the waffle-pancake house and you can guess by the name what they serve there. Different waffles and pancakes with a lot of spreads to choice. It’s also a stage there, where celebrities can give shows, play music or dance. In the park there are many roller-coasters. My favourite roller-coaster is ”Insane”. It’s a new roller-coaster called Eclipse. Eclipse is a swing and the world’s highest toss swing. I think it’s very scary to go by the Eclipse.
