Cruise holidays with Kuoni

Wake up to a new view each day as you sail the Caribbean’s crystal-clear waters on a beautiful tall ship, go with the flow down Europe’s great waterways or take an epic expedition to the ends of the Earth.

At Kuoni, we work closely with cruise lines that share our exceptional service values. When you visit us in store, we’ll listen to exactly what you’re looking for and recommend the voyages that suit you. You can also ask us for first-hand advice about anything from cabin types to dress codes.

Our Personal Travel Experts have experienced it all and are ready you to help find a cruise holiday tailored to you, whether you’re seeking unparalleled luxury, a low-key sailing experience or something in between.

Ultra-luxury cruises

This certainly isn’t cruising as you’ve imagined it. High-end cruise lines tend to have smaller, more intimate ships that can dock in the heart of a destination, and a host of luxurious extras like free-flowing Champagne, butler service and gourmet dining. Add exceptional service where nothing is too much trouble, and you have the ultimate holiday experience. The vibe on board is low key but upmarket, and the culinary offerings are always exceptional.

Premium ocean cruises

One size doesn’t fit all on a premium cruise –our partners have a wide range of ships that can accommodate anywhere between 100 and just over 3000 guests. The larger ships have a wide range of dining options, extensive facilities and West End-quality entertainment while the smaller ships have a more toned-down vibe and more streamlined facilities. But no matter the size, you can always expect high quality service.

Family cruises

Grownups shouldn’t get all the fun when it comes to holidays on the high seas. Thanks to an ever-growing fleet of action-packed, facility-filled ships, family cruises are becoming ever more popular, particularly with multigenerational adventures. There’s never a dull moment on board for sailors of any age with activities you can do together and separately, as well as a dining scene that’s far less formal than some of the more traditional ships – think diners, ice-cream shops, cafés and pizza joints.

Expedition & discovery cruises

Here the destination is king and the first thing you’ll need to bring is a sense of adventure. The cruise experience itself is the same as in other regions of the world with exceptional dining, often a spa and low-key entertainment on board. The difference lies in the focus on the remote areas you’re visiting. Each day, you’ll head out on small explorer boats or Zodiacs and either step on land at a particular point of interest or cruise along the coastline.

Sailing cruises

Picture yourself island hopping in the Caribbean or sailing from port to port in the Mediterranean under full sail, using the power of nature to travel. Sailing cruises take you back in time but don’t skimp on the more modern facilities such as plunge pools and watersports equipment. They are relatively casual and laidback in style and as the ships are smaller, you can visit more intimate ports, giving you more of an insight into and connection with the destinations that you visit.

River cruises

Rivers have long been a lifeline for the people that live along their course. A cruise is an unbeatable way to take in life by the water and see some of the most beautiful towns, cities and ancient relics on the way. It’s all about heading off the beaten track and getting to places that are otherwise inaccessible and untouched by mass tourism. River cruise ships are more like boutique floating hotels than ships, creating an intimate and friendly atmosphere on board.

Our favourite cruises: an experts’ guide

Our Personal Travel Experts have tried and tested some of the world’s most epic adventures at sea to bring you their first-hand insight.

To give you just a taste of where we can take you, we’ve picked a handful of our favourite cruise destinations across the world from a selection of our handpicked cruise partners.

Our experts have island hopped in the Caribbean under sail with Star Clippers, meandered along India’s sacred Ganges River with Uniworld, joined a high-end European voyage with Silversea and taken the whole gang on a Royal Caribbean family-focused cruise. There are also trips for the more adventurous at heart, including a wildlife-rich Celebrity Cruises exploration of the Galápagos and one of the most incredible trips you can take: a visit Antarctica with HX Hurtigruten Expeditions.

Ultra-luxury cruises: a Silversea voyage in Europe

“The bijou size of our Silverseas ship meant we could dock a little closer to the action on our ultra-luxe trip around the Iberian Peninsula. A standout stop was Cadiz where we were docked just five minutes from the centre of town, and thanks to the overnight visit, we really got to see the city come alive in the evening. The included excursions were a great way of getting to know the cities we visited, including vibrant Lisbon. Returning to our boutique-style ship and making the most of butler service at the end of the day was a bonus.”

Vicky Bignell, Kuoni Milton Keynes

Expedition cruises: exploring the Galápagos with Celebrity Xpedition

“The stage was set for our adventure before we’d even set foot on the Celebrity Flora, catching sight of iguanas, sea lions and blue-footed boobies as we made our way by tender; our excitement was ignited right at the start. The naturalists (mostly from the Galápagos Islands or Ecuador) impressed us with their passion, knowledge, hospitality and genuine love for the region. My stand-out moment was snorkelling around the alongside penguins, marine iguanas, turtles and a shark. It was quite literally breathtaking.”

Katie Low, Kuoni Cambridge

Family cruises: the world’s best family holiday

“The seemingly endless number of things going on on a Royal Caribbean cruise mean that each member of the family could find their favourite activity before coming together for fun-filled moments over meals, on-shore adventures and poolside lazing. Our time on board was as important to us as the ports we visited and we spent a lot of our time between Mediterranean ports of call on the FlowRider surf simulator, the rock-climbing wall and in Studio B, the on-board ice rink (one of the many firsts at sea that Royal Caribbean have achieved over the years).”

Hardman, Kuoni Manchester

River cruises: spectacular journeys in India with Uniworld

“The best hotels and most luxurious ship, knowledgeable guides and destination-themed surprises were just a few of the reasons I loved travelling through India with Uniworld. Every element was meticulously planned, and we were immersed in local life throughout the Golden Triangle and along the Ganges. We visited flower markets, took rickshaw rides and bypassed the queues at the major sights; having the Taj Mahal almost to ourselves in the quieter mornings was an unforgettable experience.”

Jenna Skilton, Kuoni at John Lewis Southampton

Expedition cruises: all-inclusive Antarctica with HX

“Our trip to The Great White Continent was life changing. We followed in the footsteps of the great explorers and witnessed landscapes few people have seen but from a state-of-theart, fully hybrid ship as our base. The adventure started as we crossed The Drake Passage and continued to Antarctica setting off on Zodiac cruises and shore landings. The most awe-inspiring moments were sailing through Wilhemina Bay, a humpback hotspot, and the Lemaire Channel under battery power with just the sound of calving glaciers and songs of the whales as nature’s soundtrack.”

Josh Naylor, Retail Partnerships Executive

Sailing cruises: The Caribbean with Star Clippers

“Sailing on board the 227-guest Royal Clipper was a once-in-alifetime experience. It was like taking a step back in time with all the sails, ropes, polished brass elements and old-world style library. Getting off the beaten track in each destination was a key focus with one-of-a-kind excursions: we took a canopy tram ride through the rainforest in St Kitts and a drifted along a jungle-cloaked waterway into the middle of nowhere by boat in Dominica; we could access bays and ports that you can’t reach on the bigger ships.”

Nicola Booth, Kuoni Metro Centre

Go further

By adding a land element to your cruise, you can go so much further, explore different landscapes and meet more people with incredible stories. A stay and cruise holiday really gives you the best of both worlds. All that’s set are the dates of your cruise, the rest is fully flexible.

Aerial view of Mayreau beach in St-Vincent and the Grenadines - Tobago Cays

We have partnered with Emerald Cruises, the intimate ship experts, to showcase three different choices for one cruise. But there’s always more you can do, and our Personal Travel Experts are ready to craft cruise holiday magic.

Just the cruise

We’ve picked an island-hopping adventure around St Vincent & the Grenadines, on board a luxury yacht departing from Bridgetown, Barbados. The ports of call are wonderfully varied for such a small island nation – you’ll visit the capital, Kingstown, on Saint Vincent’s south coast before heading to the bijou islands of Bequia, Mayreau and Union. They’ve saved the best for last with a day anchored off picture-perfect Tobago Cays archipelago before returning to Barbados.

Beach & cruise

This is the simplest of the three options: flying out to Barbados five days before you set sail and spending your days out exploring the island (or just chilling on the sands) and your nights at the five-star Fairmont Royal Pavilion. Revel in the chic Barbadian beach house vibes of your room or suite and enjoy beachfront meals with live music and the waves as your soundtrack. We can also arrange authentic experiences like a rum cocktail making lesson at Mount Gay Rum or a Bajan street food tour to enhance your stay.

City & cruise

Exploring two US cities then heading off on a Caribbean cruise is never a bad idea. This holiday begins in New York City with the Lotte New York Palace in Midtown Manhattan as your base for three nights. You can barely move for iconic sights and attractions here and your days will be action packed. Then fly down to the sun-soaked shores of Florida for three nights at the Fontainbleau Miami Beach and some time soaking up the Sunshine State lifestyle. Then fly down to Barbados to board your luxury yacht.
