Pastoral livelihoods face many challenges, with little widespread awareness of the deep traditional knowledge embedded within them, or of what the lives and work of pastoral communities entail. Our biocultural community protocol discusses the importance of our culture, our animals, and our traditional knowledge. We outline our rights under Indian and international law, and our view of the future, as well as the commitments we have made to ensure that we get there.
