he age of revolutions which is currently sweeping the Arab world has brought the winds of change to the shores of the United Kingdom. In fact, it is not the shores, it is to the heart of the country, London, the business capital of the world and the finance and commercial hub connecting Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the rest of the world. I don’t think there is a country that does not have a big stake in London. Today, the beautiful snobbish city is hit by riots. KUWAIT: National Assembly speaker Jassem Al-Khorafi said yesterday that conditions for holding the emergency parliamentary session have been completed and he has notified the government. Khorafi said the session will be held after an Amiri decree is issued calling for the session. He also said that the date of the session will be determined in the Amiri decree although MPs who requested the session have suggested the session to be on August 15. Thirty-three MPs last week submitted the request to convene the session to discuss what many lawmakers described as a serious crisis regarding the failure of Kuwait University to admit thousands of students. LONDON: Britons swept up, patched up and feared further violence yesterday, demanding police do more to protect them after three nights of rioting left looted stores, torched cars and blackened buildings across London and several other UK cities. Police said they were working full-tilt, but found themselves under attack - from rioters roaming the streets, from a scared and worried public, and from politicians whose cost-cutting is squeezing police numbers ahead of next year’s Olympic Games. Iran urged Britain yesterday to show “restraint” in dealing with rioters, the state television website reported.
