GOD IS LOVE God is Spirit, but He is not impersonal and remote. God is LOVE. True love is undoubtedly the noblest thing on earth, for it is a reflection of God Himself. Men love, but God IS love. Love is His very nature and essence. Realising that, we can understand how grossly misrepresented He is in those likenesses which make men guilty of worshipping the creature instead of the Creator who is blessed forever.

The love of God is seen in His giving to man the priceless gift of freedom. Freedom of choice would not be real if it did not permit choice of evil. It is no reflection upon the love of God that mankind has chosen evil and misused this priceless gift. That mankind has so chosen needs no argument, for the world is full of the bitter fruits of human sin.

But the love of God is seen in this too, that sinful men have not been abandoned to their sin and doom. Infinite love has made an infinite atonement to redeem man from the power of sin and Satan. The greatest power in the world is not the Hydrogen bomb, but the redeeming love of God. The Hydrogen bomb may destroy the world. Only the redeeming love of God can make it anew. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation.

Old things have passed away. Behold all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

To experience and enjoy the power of this redemption you must realise that GOD LOVES YOU As if there were no other in the world, God loves YOU. He has proved His love in so many ways, but chiefly in this, that He sent His only begotten Son into the world to save sinners. The Lord Jesus Christ as the embodiment of the Divine Love, laid aside His glory and took upon Himself the form of a servant. He became what He was not, without ceasing to be what He was. As perfect God and perfect man, He lived upon earth, wrought mighty works, gave the world its highest teaching, and finally gave His life as a ransom for mankind. By bearing Himself the judgment sin deserved, He vindicated the holiness of God, and made a way whereby God could justly pardon sinners. This fact is God's good news for you.

This good news can become the power of God unto your salvation from sin, if you believe it. When the soul realises that “the Son of God loved ME, and gave Himself for ME” (Galatians 2:20) and abandons all self-efforts to attain salvation, and relies wholly on the redemption accomplished by the Lord Jesus through His death and resurrection, then a miracle takes place by the power of the Spirit of God. That is nothing less than a new birth – a birth from above.

If you now believe that God loves you, and has accomplished eternal redemption for you through the death of His Son, why not respond to His amazing love by an act of sincere faith, and experience this mighty transformation yourself? Confess your sins, plead the merits and the atoning death of the living Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will prove His promise true, that “WHOSOEVER COMES TO ME, I WILL IN NO WISE CAST HIM OUT.” (John 6:37)
