1. L-Shaped Anchor Bolt L-Shaped Anchor Bolt - Embedded in concrete and used to support structural steel columns, light poles, highway signs, and other equipment. - The hook portion of the anchor bolt creates resistance so that the bolt does not pull out of the concrete foundation it is embedded in,when force is applied.
2. Perforated plastic drain pipe Perforated plastic drain pipe -Perforated Pipe is a pipe which has small slots through which water can flow through them.
3. Oriented Strand Board (OSB) Oriented Strand Board (OSB) - a type of engineered lumber similar to particle board, formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands -
provide dimensional stability and stiffness for wall and roof sheathing needs provide dimensional stability and stiffness for wall and roof sheathing needs
4. Plywood Plywood -
-
a type of strong thin wooden board consisting of two or more layers glued and pressed together with the direction of the grain alternating, and usually sold in sheets of four by eight feet. Pressure treated for exterior above ground use
5. High Wind Connector High Wind Connector -
provide a positive connection between truss/rafter and the wall of the structure to resist wind and seismic forces.
6. Joist Hanger Joist Hanger -metal strap used to hang a joist from a larger structural beam
7. I-Joist I-Joist -
I-joists are strong, lightweight, "I" shaped engineered wood structural members that meet demanding performance standards. I-joists are comprised of top and bottom flanges, which resist bending, united with webs, which provide outstanding shear resistance.
8. Housewrap (airtight barrier) Housewrap (airtight barrier) -
Wrap used as a shell around buildings and homes Functions as a weather resistant barrier
9. Vapor Retarder (eg. for walls) Vapor Retarder (eg. for walls) -
Thin layer of impermeable material used in building construction coating walls Helps to prevent moisture from damaging the building
10. Ridge vent (Kyle’s Slide) Ridge Vent -Installed at the peak of a sloped roof -allows damp, warm air to escape from the attic
11. Soffit w/vent Soffit w/vent -
Mainly plastic vent allowing airflow into attic from under roof Also covers up and protects rafters
12. Three Tab Shingles (Kyle’s Slide) Three Tab Shingles -
Shingles distinguished by cutouts along the lower edge Protects roof from the elements and allows water to run off of roof
13. Rigid Insulation Rigid Insulation -
-
Panels of polyurethane foam that are used in commercial and residential construction as roof or outside wall insulation. To keep heat inside building
14. Batt Insulation Batt Insulation -
-
Insulation, usually made of fiberglass, that is used to prevent heat loss and is manufactured in sheets or rolls Made for sound and water resistance Keeps heat in building
15. Moisture-resistant drywall Moisture Resistant drywall -
Board made of plaster or other materials screwed into studs in interior walls Similar to regular drywall but with a thicker paper coating that is covered by a layer of wax to help with moisture resistance
16. Two (2) Cedar Shingles with a 6 Exposure Two (2) Cedar Shingles with a 6 Exposure -
provide a more refined classic appearance, which is well suited to a wide range of styles.
- Providing excellent protection for your home while reducing the use of precious natural resources
17. Fiber-Cement Siding Fiber-Cement Siding - building material used to cover the exterior of a building - Made of sand, cement, and cellulose fibers
18. Vinyl Siding Vinyl Siding -
Plastic exterior siding Used for weatherproofing
19. Ceramic Tile Ceramic Tile -
Tile made from clay that has been permanently hardened by heat. Often containing a glaze
20. Brick: Common Bond Brick: Common Bond -
a small rectangular block typically made of fired or sun-dried clay, used in building.
21. Weep Hole Weep Hole -
is a small opening that allows water to drain from within an assembly.
22. CMU – Split Faced CMU – Split Faced - Concrete blocks with a uniquely textured face - can be manufactured as a paint grade product or in a variety of attractive colors.
23. CMU – Ribbed Faced CMU – Ribbed Faced -
Available with two, four, eight or sixteen ribs per block, with a controlled or erratic break finish.
24. Stone: Random Ashlar Stone: Random Ashlar - Stone product made up of sandstone, quartz, limestone and other natural stone materials - Used in many applications both inside and out of structures
25. Metal Flashing Metal Flashing -
-
thin pieces of impervious material installed to prevent the passage of water into a structure from a joint it is part of the weather resistant barrier system. Available in many different metals including tin, copper, and stainless steel.
26. Concrete or Stone Coping Concrete or Stone Coping -
A splayed or wedge coping slopes in a single direction; a saddle coping slopes to either side of a central high point.
27. Precast Concrete Lintel Precast Concrete Lintel -
A lintel is defined as a horizontal structural member supporting the wall load above a window or door. Lintels can be precast concrete, steel structural shapes, stone, wood or other products.
28. Beam to Column: Shear Connection Beam to Column: Shear Connection - Steel connections assumed not to transfer bending moment, which allows end rotation of the member.
29. Beam to Col: Moment Connection Beam to Col: Moment Connection - Steel connections that carry a portion or the full moment capacity of the supported member which prevents any end-rotation of the member.
30. Welded Open-Web Steel Joist Welded Open-Web Steel Joist -
In structural engineering, the open web steel joist (OWSJ) is a lightweight steel truss consisting, in the standard form, of parallel chords and a triangulated web system, proportioned to span between bearing points.
