How to operate each tool bar
1. select “editor” and click “start editing”
2. click “ok”
4. click at desired placement
5. select the point editor (edits & moves the point created)
3. Select desired point to create and drag into editing screen
6. select the point and right click, select “attributes”
7. Enter the information required. ** Floor must be: “Basement”, “LL”, “First”, “Second”, “Third”, “Fourth”, “Fifth”, “Sixth”. **Location must be: “Interior” or “Exterior.” With the Istar panel, location will be the room number

** You can use this same process for editing the points as well **

Select the top row, this will allow the edits to be applied to all the selected annotation

Now, the edits made under the attributes tab will be applied to all of the selected annotation or point data
Open the catalog
Expand folder connections
Expand the S drive
Expand Space Survey
Select the zone of campus in which the building is located
Add floor plans
Expand the appropriate zone
Select the desired floor for the selected building
Left click and drag the floor onto the editing map, unclick to release the floor plan
** The point and annotation can be moved to a desired location in the building by selecting the editor button on the editor tool bar, left click and drag the necessary point to desired location **

Turn on / off campus features
Right click on the floor plan layer and select remove. This will clear the floor plan from the map and the layer panel. If the floor plans are not deleted, their build up will slow down GIS response time.

Right click on the door location point and select “Open Attribute Table�

Double click on the attribute needed for the information to be organized around. For example above: Building number was double clicked, so the buildings are in order from lowest building number to highest. Building 104 (Bixby Hall) is selected. The door described as “BXB NORTH MAIN” is a type “B” door located on the floor : “LL”

Each feature can be double clicked to be the object of attention. For example above type, location, and description have been selected. Other useful attributes to arrange information are by floor, and door number.
To print, select the table options on the top left, and select print. PDF and network printers will be available.

7. Click the close x at the top right and select “Yes”

The data for Doors, Istars, Cameras, and NVR are organized by floor on the top section of the layer manager

Expand a floor to see the available data options that can be turned on / off by checking the corresponding box
Each data point can be expanded to turn on /off the annotation and point, the floor must be checked for the information below to be seen
The layers are expanded To view any selected aspects of the floor on the printing map, this box must be checked

On/off doors On/off door annotation On/off door point To view the aspects on the printing map, select the box next to the floor, it will show the aspects expanded below
Displaying necessary information
** Example: Let’s say that we want to print the doors and Istar panels for the 2nd floor of the Danforth University Center **
Check “Bldg_Feature” to see the names of each building on campus

Expand the second floor plan layer Un-check these boxes: Annotation, Point, Polygon, and MultiPatch.

Double click on Polyline and select the Drawing Layers tab. Uncheck â&#x20AC;&#x153;A-FLR-IDEN,â&#x20AC;? this is the layer of yellow circles displaying on the floor plan. You can also check and un-check other features desired or not desired to display on the floor plan. For example, Grids show up occasionally, as do excessive annotation and furniture. Look for the color they are displayed on the floor plan and relate to the drawingn layer description and color to help with turning on/off layers. 90% of the time only A-FLRIDEN needs to be turned off.

Save the PDF under the campus collection under: Intern drive < Kyle Fant < WashU Doors by Zone < Select the appropriate zone for the building, in this case Orange Zone

To access the query builder (which links the information from the editing map to the printing map layers) double click on the annotation and point for each floor and set the floor to = the description entered in editing

For printing an entire zone or book, open the first pdf, then select document < insert pages, and select all the other plans in this zone. This will combine them as a single PDF allowing the ability to click the print button once as opposed to 30-300 times. They should print in alphabetical order and be grouped by building.
