THE AirZoom A Professional Hairdryer For Stylist
Everyone has the experience of using hairdryer, especially a professional stylist. They use hairdryer for drying and styling everyday. However, some of them consider that the skill is more important for a stylist, no matter what kind of tool thay use, but they never imagine that a hairdryer can support them more.

To Find What Is The Difference Between Professional Stylist And The Amateur
Interviewed Professional Stylists In order to understand what is the difference between professional stylist and the amateur people, we interviewed 20 professional stylist from 11 different salons.
Recorded Their Behaviors Every stylist has his or her habits, recorded their unique behaviors, and asked why they did it if there is any question.

Interesting Findings From Observation And Interview
Not To Do Useless Design But Enhance The Functions They Really Need There are some hairdryers with special functions, but few of stylists are interested in them, because all they need are the basically functions, like high wind speed, less of weight.
" To be a professional stylist, they are proud of their skill, not their tool. " " Stylists chose their own hairdryer for different reasons. For instance, weight, shape, power, etc "
" Even there somes disadvantages of the hairdryer, but they tend to adapt to it. "

Ideation Explore Any Possibility Of Hairdryer
Focus On The Wind During ideation process, We decided to focus on the wind, because wind is most important of this product, and also the most directly way to change the using experience.

Our Insight - Make The Hairdryer's High Speed Area Fit Stylists' Work The stylists use hairdryer mostly for drying and styling, but there are some different parts in these two works.

Adjust High Speed Area To The Right Position In order to make the high speed area match the stylist's work, we redesign the wind tunnel of hairdryer, and use the flow simulation of solidworks to test the real effect of our design. Drying Mode

ZOOMING MODULE Use the basical principle of fluid intretia, that air tends to flow into the bigger gap than the smaller one. As a result, we utilize this principle to design a zooming module which can easily change the mode of wind.

OBLIQUE AIR-INTAKE PASSAGE First, when cooling hair by the air-intake passage, the stylist doesn't need to turn his or her wrist 180 degree. Second, this oblique air-intake passage lower the risk of hair being entangled with the fan.

Final Presentation In this project, we faced many ordeals, like we are not engineers, we didn't know how to make the motor rotate faster, we didn't know how to reduce the harm to hair, and so on . However, I started to ask myself " What is the value of designer in this kind of product ? "
" We are designers, we didn't focus on the issues that should be solved by engineers. We focused on human's emotion, experience, behaviors, and how to deliver out thought. " It was my answer at that moment.

My Muse - Kaoshiung To be one of the most important industrial city, Kaoshiung had devoted itself to develop Taiwan's industry and export for many years. As a result, when talk about people's impression of Kaoshiung, probably are factories, the Kaoshiung Port. However in nowadays, this grey city has more color than before.

STYLING Shaping My Impression There are many special festures in Kaoshiung. However, the most impressive things to me are the industrial facilities, the port, and the grey sky. All of them made me feel calm and peace, but I want to made some difference, I want to create a peace atmosphere with a little bit innovative things.

The UFO Peeler Any Direction You Want The traditional peeler can be classified into two types, " I "shape and " Y " shape, but both them have using limitation. However, the UFO peeler has 360° blade disk, being able to fit everyone's using habit.
