The Textile Cultural Center and Fashion Institute looks to re-engage the community by creating a plaza for public gatherings and fashion shows that both embrace and enhance the rich heritage of the neighborhood. Utilizing catwalks to bridge the two structures, the users are immersed in textiles and fashion inside this lively interior courtyard.

SITUATED AT THE BOARDER BETWEEN A MANUFACTURING AND RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, THE SITE HAS BEEN A CAUSE OF FRACTURE AMONGST THE PILSEN COMMMUNITY.THE TEXTILE CULTURAL CENTER AND FASHION INSTITUTE LOOKS TO RE-ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY BY CREATING A PLAZA FOR PUBLIC GATHERINGS AND FASHION SHOWS THAT BOTH EMBRACE AND ENHANCE THE RICH HERTIAGE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
