Hellooooo everyone!! My name is Kyle Torres and to all the Key Clubbers out there, how do you feel? Tired from Finals and or AP Exams? Well don't worry everyone is. This month has been filled with SAT's, Finals, and for many Key Clubbers, is graduation!! For me It will be hard seeing all of my seniors leave high school but I now they will all do good in the future. For everybody else who are not graduating, Summer break is about to start and I find it amazing to see everyones passion to serve even if the year is slowing down. Well anyways, I hope on seeing each and every one of you in the future and if you just have any questions involving Key Club or just want someone to talk to, I'll be here for you. I'm literally pointing at my contacts lol. In love and service Lieutenant Governor D20I Kyle Torres
Monthly Highlights Our Division has been participating in many events, all of which are improving the communities around us. For example the South Whidbey High School has hosted a bake sale, hosted a local garbage pick up, and participated in the Walk For Water Campaign. Anacortes High School has hosted their largest fundraiser while at the same month hosted a clean up day in their local Kiwanis Park. Oak Harbor High School has participated in many events like the Broudview Elementary carnival and the local Bowlathon. They also are planing a promotional video and handed out No-Sew Blankets to the Seattle Children's Hospital.
No-Sew Blankets Just this month the Oak Harbor High School Key Club has given more than 200 No-Sew Blankets to the Seattle Children's Hospital. No-Sew Blankets are essentially blankets that the person doesn't need to sew. The
blankets have to be made in a certain size
and materiel for the Hospital to even accept them due to the all of the weathering the
blankets have to endure during its time in the hospital. This service project took three
months long and multiple Kiwanis family
branches were involved. Branches like the
Builders Club, Key Club, and the local Kiwanis Club. Everyone is happy to see that the
blankets will soon be in some child's arms in the Seattle Children's Hospital.
