Building SME agility with corporate capabilities through a unique approach to development Our skills around the core strengths of leadership, entrepreneurial behaviour and growth, are underpinned by authoritative research and bench marking of best practice. Our approach for larger businesses, seeks to nurture the ethos of Corporate Capability with SME Agility. Development delivered by the Centre for Enterprise will engage individuals, teams and whole organisations, to bring about an engaged and responsive workforce. We have identified the ‘entrepreneur’ as playing a central role in developing agility. About the Centre Based in the Business School at Manchester Metropolitan University, the Centre for Enterprise supports businesses and entrepreneurs in the North West of England, through a series of activities, research, enterprise and knowledge exchange.

Small and Medium sized enterprises employ more than 50 per cent of all private sector workers. The Centre has established a reputation for helping those businesses to develop a clear pathway for growth and to equip them with the necessary skills required. Our team at the Centre for Enterprise is passionate about research and applying it into practical knowledge. Our approach to developing business growth in large firms, is based on our vast experience of helping over 3,000 businesses. Characteristics closely associated with SMEs, such as flexibility, the ability to react quickly and change fast, are often marginalised as a business grows. Our method re-energises larger businesses, facilitating a step change in operations and moves a businesses back towards the entrepreneurial philosophy of its founders.
