I STUDIED PRODUCT DESIGN AT UNIVERSITY. NOW I WILL STUDY ART AND DESIGN AT THE UCA'S FARNHAM CAMPUS. I THINK ANY ARTWORK IS A SYNTHESIS OF INTELLECT AND EMOTIONS, AND ART AND DESIGN REFLECT A TIME’S ECONOMY, TECHNOLOGY AND CULTURE, IT ALSO RELATES TO OUR DAILY LIFE INTIMATELY. I AM DETERMINED TO BE A DESIGNER, CONSIDERING THE MOST IMPORTANT SKILL OF A HUMAN BEING IS THE ABILITY TO CREATE, AND I FIND OUT WHEN A PERSON STOPS TO CREATE, HE STOPS TO LIVE. HENCE I CHOSE MY LIFE TO CREATE BEAUTY AND ART IN THIS WORLD.

HEALING CANDY SPEAKER

This is a research project & Installation art about the air pollution threats in China and my voices and solutions to this serious issue. Take the gauze mask as a shoulder bag, put out a necessity (mobile phone, bank card, ear- phones, data cable). Means that gauze mask also becomes one necessity when go out. A reminder for people when go out in the case of the bad air to don’t forget to wear a mask.

This is a wall-mounted bluetooth speaker designed for children’s medical center. (1)To reduce children’s fear of hospital and medical services. This a humanistic design product. (2)Speaker can have more possibilities.( 3)Installation art combine with product design.(4)To create a better and more humanistic medical environment and use non-toxic, environmentally friendly, degradable materials.

EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE

In the ten-week English course, I think that I have not only learned language skills. More is to improve the ability of deep learning and I can express my ideas freely. After watching the artists’ TED Talks in class, I have learnt more about the artists who gave the speech, searched for more of their work and understood the views behind the work. For example, after watching JR's speech in class, I did research and found that he and Agnes Varda co-produced a documentary called Visages, Villages. Then I watched this film in my spare time and I really liked it. So, I could explore more knowledge after class. In addition, during this period, I learned more through the field trips and how the major I studied can work better with other fields. Because the world is an interconnected organic whole, every field promotes human development little by little.

PSEAD PSEAD PSEAD PSEAD PSEAD PSEAD

During the main GDAD course, I hope to confirm my design direction. Better balance functionality and aesthetics in design. Integrate more art fields into design and find my unique design style. Not all the designs have to be grand or attract admiration from the crowd, if a design tickles a person to laugh, I perceive that as a successful piece of design. In the future, I want to develop my own brand and contribute to the vigor of the global creative ecosystem. I will cherish every opportunity to the fullest.

2013-2017 BA Fashion art Design at The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts 2018-future MA Fine Art at University for the Creative Arts My BA course was Fashion Art Design, that was a very important experience that influenced me so much. I started to learn what design was and how to design and solve the problems I faced by a logical mind, especially, my final work of graduating, <City Punk>. From this project, I did the most integrated research and development of my design work in my BA course. It made me develop a useful habit of designing or creating. Now, I would design a plan before I start to do any artworks, and adjust the plan until I feel it is ready.

personality

I had a couple of jobs after graduated from GAFA, Fashion designer, then window-dresser. The reason for the second job was that I have a chance to learn installation art, that was what I interested about. I had a strong interest in society and the mental state of the human being who is living in cities, and think deeply about the relation between them. I tried to express it in different ways, including images, videos, music, performing, installation.

City Punk

I focus on the art of performing of identity, social mental state, emotional connection, misunderstanding. I love stories and allegories, because they are educational, irradiative, give me a lot of inspiration. I thought that what I do should be thoughtful but in a simple form, which will be beautiful and intriguing. I hope that I can show more things behind our life, by using a different angle, to share what I think about this world, so I would love to give an attempt in different areas. I am trying very hard to know more information about artists who are doing well in this area. In this case, I am really interested in Roman Signer(born 1938 in Appenzell, Switzerland)’ s artwork, the way that he treats things affects me a lot. In his work, objects were endowed meaning, when they were set up in an empty room, like physical experiments, they showed more things made people think deeply. <the running fence> by Christo and Jeanne-Claude was also impressive. they used nylon fabric to build a long wall, it was imaginative and made me relate to the environment issue. hopefully, it can raise people’s awareness of thinking of improving our society.

PATTERNS OF FLESH THE IDEA OF THIS PROJECT COMES FROM MY INTEREST IN "THE REIFICATION OF HUMAN BODY". A FEW DECADES AGO,CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS BEGAN TO SHOW HUMAN BODIES IN ARTWORKS, HUMAN BODY HAS BECOME A MATERIAL OF CREATING ARTWORK . AS AN IRONIC REPRESENTATION OF THIS SITUATION, I STARTED THIS PROJECT. THE REPETITION OF THE SAME IMAGE STANDED. THIS KIND OF REPETITION CREATES THESE IMAGES OF PATTERNS --- A WAY OF ELIMINATE ENDLESS MEANINGS, A FORM OF PURE AESTHETIC. THE IMAGES INCLUDE HUMAN BUTTOCKS, ARMS, TOES, LIPS AND EYES. I REMAINED SOME DETAILS OF HUMAN BODY, SUCH AS WRINKLES AND GOOSE FLESH., HOWEVER I ABANDONED MOST OF THE FEATURES OF HUMAN BODY IN THE IMAGE TO BRING A KIND OF VISUAL ILLUSION TO AUDIENCES. #2 2017 PHOTOGRAPHY

DAILY LIFE THIS PROJECT IS A VIDEO WORK . THROUGH THE VIDEO I WANT TO SHOW THE IRONIC CONTRADICTION AND CONNECTION BETWEEN ORDINARY DAILY LIFE OF THE MAJORITY AND CRITICAL ISSUES THAT HAPPEN AROUND THE WORLD.

VIDEO 2017 2' 35" URL: https://youtu.be/9YjY4ZTvOKo

I RECORDED MANY FOOTAGES OF MY DAILY LIFE AND CONNECT THEM TO THESE VOCABULARIES OF SERIOUS ISSUES THAT HAPPEN AROUND THE WORLD RECENTLY. THEN I USED A PROJECTOR TO PROJECT THE VIDEO ON A PILLOW TO EMPHASISE THIS "IRRELEVANT RELATIONSHIP" BETWEEN ORDINARY DAILY LIFE OF THE MAJORITY AND CRITICAL ISSUES THAT HAPPEN AROUND THE WORLD.

Name:Zhongwen Pan Birth:16.10.1993 Gender:Female Student NR:1800601 My name is Zhongwen Pan. I graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2016. I studied art education. I used to create my artwork by water color. Because I was not an outgoing person, So I served drawing as a journal to record my feeling. I used a toy girl as my prototype to transmit my feelings whether it is good or bad. But that was my true feeling base on my real life. My source of inspiration has no definite direction. Sometimes it comes from the mystery novel I read, I like to catch the abstract words and convert into a concrete scene in my mind and draw it down. During my creative process, I also like to watch the Music Video of Marilyn Manson. It gives me huge impact both visually and ideologically. And I was trying to express my feeling in more creative way in my artwork. So I chose to study in UCA. Now, I make great effort to improve my English. I try to read some novels in English and record some unfamiliar words in my phone app and keep remembering them everyday. And I like watching movies and listening to music. For example, Eminem’ hip hop music is entrancing. I think it is not only interesting but also help me improving my listening skill. During PSEAD, I watched lots of video of TED TALKs. To some extent, it improved my horizon and gave me lots of inspiration and thought-provoking. In addition, they improved my presentation skills as I need to be more confident and active.
