END OF YEAR DEGREE SHOW

Your work will culminate in exhibiting at our annual degree show, a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work to regional industry partners and businesses, as well as celebrating your achievement with friends and family.

I chose York St John after attending an Open Day here. I felt really at home whilst walking around and the art facilities really appealed to me. Compared to other Open Days I had attended, I didn’t feel like a little fish in a big pond and for the first time I felt relaxed about moving away from home. Seeing some of the artwork that students at York St John were making, I was reassured of the high quality of this course. I also liked how genuinely enthusiastic and approachable the specialist staff were when speaking to them at the Open Day. I liked that the small class sizes in Fine Art allowed for more contact time with tutors and spacious studio spaces. One highlight of my time studying at York St John was the opportunity to do a work placement with Aesthetica art magazine. I helped with the installation of their Art Prize exhibition at York Art Gallery and had the chance to work with and talk to some really interesting artists. I gained a lot of skills from helping with the installation and being behind the scenes of an exhibition was something I loved being a part of. Kate Woodward Fine Art BA (Hons)
