PREPARING FOR YOUR FUTURE

We host employability events throughout the year to help you focus on your future. This includes an annual employability conference, in which we invite in professionals from the media and film industry. In Year 2 students work with a graphic designer and other consulting professionals on the Media Enterprise module, where students work together to come up with concepts and pitches for apps and rebrands of existing media. NEUTRAL MAGAZINE

This student-led magazine is committed to getting in amongst not just the debates of media and culture, but in-between the spaces of debates, to discern what makes them arise and what new possibilities are on the horizon. The contents of this magazine are intended to be far from neutral or bland, instead we hope they are baffling, ardent and resourceful. All Media and Film Studies students are encouraged to participate in the production of Neutral magazine. A new edition is produced every year and previous editions are available online. 92%

of Film and Media students were satisfied with their course. (National Student Survey 2019)

York St John offered me everything I ever wanted from higher education, a real community spirit from everyone on campus, amazing staff who go well out of their way to make sure every student feels like a person and not just a number, and of course, the beautiful city which to this day still amazes me with all its quirks and history every time I leave my front door. One of the main reasons I chose to study Film & Media at York St John was the depth the course went into with new and exciting modules no other institution could offer me. I felt very confident in my options upon finishing my degree. My overall highlight of my time at York St John is definitely the friendships I have made and the newfound confidence I’ve built from everyone at York St John supporting me and making me feel part of this amazing community.
