Initial Teacher Education (QTS)

• Study at a University with a proud history. Originally established as a teacher training college in 1841, York St John has a long-standing reputation for teacher training.

• Build your skills and confidence as a teacher through your placements, taking on increasing levels of responsibility as you progress through your degree. We have strong, collaborative partnerships with schools and community education providers across the region. You can also broaden your experience with placements in settings outside of schools.

• Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). York St John is an accredited Initial Teacher Training provider, which means that when you graduate you’ll be recommended for QTS by the Teaching Regulation Agency.
