• Focus on practical learning as you create video, audio, online and print content for various channels in the UK’s only UNESCO City of Media Arts.

• Work on a wide range of exciting solo and group projects telling stories that matter to you and your audience.

• Master a range of production skills, as well as developing your confidence with specialist equipment and software. You’ll have access to specialist facilities such as a newsroom, TV and radio studios, editing suites, cameras, and advanced sound equipment.

Music

• Prepare for a career as a professional music maker by performing and composing music, as well as facilitating community music projects. Throughout your course, you’ll collaborate with students across other creative courses, staff, and creative professionals to develop into the artist you want to be.

• Take a practical approach to your learning. Our enthusiastic and supportive team of experienced music lecturers includes performers, composers, teachers, and community musicians. Our specialist spaces and facilities include a digital composing room, production and writing suites, and rehearsal and performance spaces.

• Immerse yourself in the city as you study. On these courses, you’ll perform regularly in different places across the city, from local pubs and independent venues to the impressive York Minster.
