YORK BUSINESS SCHOOL

WELCOME We are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of creative, innovative business leaders who will challenge the business landscape and move organisational thinking forwards. As a Business School, we recognise that in confronting the new global and local commercial challenges modern leaders and managers need to be supported to act sensitively, ethically and holistically in ways that are businessrelevant and sustainable. This is embedded throughout our approach to business and management education. Fundamental to our ethos is working closely with the business communities we serve in the private, public and third sectors; locally, nationally and on an international basis. Our business engagement strategy is designed to provide events, learning interventions and consultancy, knowledge transfer and applied research. We are proud to be a Chartered Management Centre and offer the CMI Level 5 and Level 7 programmes. Our links with industry enhance your experience and develop your employability skills. Brands such as MINI, Yorkshire Bank, Aviva, Hiscox, Arup and a myriad of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in York and North Yorkshire continue to engage with our students through live projects, guest lectures, internships and placements. As a signatory of the UN Global Compact Initiative Principles for Responsible Management Education and as a member of the Prince of Wales Charity Business in the Community, we place responsible business and the role of business in society at the heart of all of our activities. We look forward to giving you a warm welcome and to supporting you on your academic journey. Dr Bob Gammie Head of York Business School

SUCCESS LAB

Success Lab, a three-year programme which runs alongside your degree, has been developed in partnership with leading graduate recruiters and industry leaders. This is an opportunity to attend events and short courses that are offered in addition to your degree.

As an international student, I was initially attracted by the city of York and the relatively small size of the University. When I visited everyone was very helpful and easy to talk to. Information was easy to access and it feels like a friendly place. The course and York Business School more than lived up to expectations. During my course I worked on real case studies and the Careers teams and lecturers helped me build my CV and my confidence. The Study Abroad team were great and helped me find a placement in Tokyo for a semester. It was an incredible trip and experiencing another culture was fantastic. These and many other little things have put me in a great position and I feel confident about finding a job in my chosen field. Enealle Calme International Tourism & Business Management BA (Hons)
