Delivering on Education More than €38,000,000 was provided for major school building and modernisation projects in Waterford between 2011 and 2015.

Delivering on Employment Live Register down by 10.2% in Waterford between May 2014 and May 2015. In the past year the live register in Co. Waterford has been reduced by 1,288. When Labour entered government we restored the mimimum wage to €8.65 per hour. We plan to increase this to €9.15 an hour.

Delivering on Health 5,869 children across Waterford are set to benefit from the roll-out of free GP care for those aged under 6. As of 1 Jan 2015, 57,602 medical cards are in operation in Waterford, of which 1,838 were discretionary cards. There are 10,500 over-70 Medical Cards in Waterford with more to benefit from the roll out of free GP access for all over 70's.

Delivering on Housing As part of the Housing 2020 strategy Waterford City and County Council has received €11,479,016 so far to deliver 88 social housing units. Some of these will be through direct build and others will be acquired through approved housing bodies. Further tranches of funding are still to come. Projects in Waterford received €927,384 of funding under the Better Energy Communities scheme in 2014.
