Supports and Services for Special Needs Children
Why I put myself forward as a representative? I do not feel represented. The old Clane Electoral (Clane, Kilcock, Prosperous, Rathcoffey and Derrinturn) has never had female representation. There is currently no representative of parents of young children. Fianna Fail and Fianna Gael have dominated the area since I became eligible to vote in 1987. As a Mother of a 4 year old and Manager of Kildare County Childcare Committee since 2004 I do not feel that the needs of children and families are prioritized at council level. I have found that many councilors are disconnected from parents day to day realities. I want to rebalance the traditional representation and join my Labour colleagues Deputy Emmet Stagg and Cllr John McGinley in ensuring that families are represented and community development principles are applied at local level. I believe I have the skills, experience, qualifications and passion to make an excellent representative and I am committed to working with you to make the places R we live a great place for our children to grow up.
