5. Dear Constituents, Times have been very difficult for people in Carrick-on-Suir lately but the spirit of the community in our town gives us great hope that 2013 will be a better year for us all. Despite the challenges we have reasons to be optimistic and hopeful. I want you all to know that the Labour team and I in South Tipperary will continue to work hard, every day, for you and your family to make our lives a little brighter. For the last 18 months we have worked in the Labour Party to secure a new Primary Health Care Centre and new VEC school for Carrick-on-Suir. These investments in our future will provide our community with modern education and health services. We are also proud to say we secured approval from the HSE for the development of a new state of the art hospice facility at St. Bridget’s Hospital which was financially supported by a cross section of local organisations. This is a vital service in our community. We also welcome the provision of Sports Capital Grant allocations to a number of local sporting organisations that will help to improve facilities in our area. The long awaited bus shelter has been erected on Pill Road and bicycle racks have been installed in a number of locations in town. All of these investments are welcome but more work needs to be done, I know this and I hear it from constituents in my office every day. We will do all we can to make sure that Carrick-on-Suir is to the fore and our community will come through this difficult time stronger and better. We look forward to continuing our work on your behalf. Please contact us at any time if we can be of assistance on any issue.

Tommy of the ties: Tommy Ryan has been a loyal member of the Carrick on Suir branch of the Labour Party for many years now and he is a great pleasure to know. He always has a smile, a kind word and a positive attitude not forgetting a new tie. This photo shows Tommy as always looking dapper and sporting one of his numerous Christmas ties. Well done Tommy. 6. New Bus Shelters and Bike Racks erected in Carrick on Suir. 7. Out and about visiting Carrick’s Housing Estates 8.
