MY 3 PRIORITIES AS YOUR TD SUPPORTING LOCAL JOBS & BUSINESSES While there is a definite economic recovery underway, this needs to be felt in all of Dublin South West. Creating jobs and getting people off the Live Register has to be one of the main priorities for any public representative in our area. As a Councillor and chair of the County Economic Development Committee, I spearheaded the landmark County Jobs Strategy and have actively supported local business networks and the shop local campaign.

A MESSAGE FROM JOAN BURTON TD “Since I was elected Labour Party Leader and became Tanaiste, I have been calling for a social recovery to accompany the progress that has been made in fixing our broken economy.

If elected TD, I will ensure that job creation job activation and supporting small business measures for Dublin South West are prioritised at national level. These include the rollout of the important Youth Guarantee to allow young jobseekers under 25 to get work, training and educational opportunities.

“I know that these are the issues are important to Pamela Kearns and to people throughout Dublin South West.

INVESTING IN EDUCATION & CHILDCARE SERVICES

“I am asking you to support someone who will put the social recovery at the heart of her work in Dail Eireann by giving Pamela Kearns your number 1 vote.”

As somebody who has run a local pre-school crèche in our area for many years, I understand the importance of education to children and young people of all ages. I will work to ensure that local schools have the necessary buildings and infrastructure so that all our children and young people are taught in a modern and safe environment. I am deeply committed to prioritising the wider availability of quality and affordable childcare for working families. I know that this is one of Joan Burton’s priorities, and will work with her on delivering childcare services for all.

DELIVERING ON HOUSING Access to affordable housing is, rightly, a vital issue for local families and young people. For some, house prices are spiralling beyond their reach. For others, there are insufficient numbers of social housing to meet demand. As your TD, I will work with the Labour team in government on a new strategy to triple the number of new homes built nationally and ensure that new housing units are available in Dublin South West.

Joan A MESSAGE FROM PAT RABBITTE TD AND EAMONN MOLONEY TD “Councillor Pamela Kearns is grounded in the local community and will make an excellent representative for the people of Dublin South West in Dail Eireann. “Thanks to hard-work, the economy is improving and progress is being made. Now is the time to ensure that the recovery benefits the many not the few. That means more houses, more school buildings, and better local services. “Pamela Kearns combines the qualities of being in touch with the community, with an ability to make a difference as a public representative. “We are asking you to give her your number 1 vote.”

Pat and Eamonn

I will also prioritise delivery of Labour’s programme to refurbish those boarded-up Local Authority homes in our area and will ensure that vacant units are brought back into much-needed use as family homes.
