ABOUT US The YMCA is a global network founded in 1844 where more than 700,000 volunteers and 96,000 employees serve 58 million people in 119 countries and 11,000 communities. The diversity of our programmes bring innovative solutions and adapt to different contexts and realities providing focused, quality attention. Our local initiatives become the great impact of YMCA. More than half million children and youth engage in YMCA programmes strengthening values, skills and knowledge to become agents of change in their communities. More than one million people find safe spaces and support in 45 local YMCA in 28 countries to reach their full potential. YMCA becomes the meeting point in 496 communities where people build community.

OF GRAND BAHAMA The YMCA of Grand Bahama is a local, non-profit charitable organisation incorporated in Grand Bahama and founded in 1970. The YMCA serves more than 2,000 people every year in the Grand Bahama and it is the only centre of its kind on the island.

YMCA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMME

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

the YMCA after school programme gives children and youth a safe place with a balanced programme built on academic enhancement, health, social-emotional development and growth.

the YMCA health and wellness programmes promote healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and physical activity for children, youth, adults, and seniors helping them live healthy, productive lives.

The programme focuses on fundamental and core classes such as Math and English based on each children level, needs, and progress rather than standardized approaches.

The YMCA promotes a holistic approach with community-oriented activities such as garden to table, monthly sessions with therapist, injury prevention, and sports.
