The Youth Summit of the Americas is a meeting of young volunteers and professionals of YMCAs of Canada, United States and Latin America and the Caribbean that aims to exchange best practices in youth work and create or strengthen relations between the associations of the American Continent. The central theme of the summit is “Strengthening Community Inclusión” and provide spaces for work and reflection to the young people to strengthen community work of the YMCA and increase their social impact.
1. Deepen the youth engagement knowledge and skills of young adult YMCA leaders in the Americas. 2. Strengthen and expand peer learning networks and Y-to-Y partnerships in the Americas. 3. Strengthen youth development and social inclusion programs in local YMCAs throughout the Americas upon completion of the Summit.
18 to 30 years old. Volunteer * or Staff** Leader committed to the mission and values of the YMCA and recognized within their YMCA. Minimum trajectory of 2 years with the Young Men Christian Association. Flexible, responsible and dynamic. Fill registration form online. Have travel insurance. USD $720 single occupancy during stay in Bogota and shared accommodation in the camp. USD $620 double occupancy during stay in Bogota and shared accommodation in the camp. Includes: local transport, food, lodging according to the selected occupation summit materials, work in community and cultural activities. Not included: airfare, travel insurance and medical expenses, travel documents (passport and visa). Subsidies: LACA have a limited number of grants. The policy will be published in the coming weeks. Note: Participants must have the required travel documents and are responsible for obtaining travel insurance to cover medical expenses abroad. Payments: payment of registration must be made to LACA before March 31, 2016. Registration deadline December 15, 2015.
