District Goals • The Los Alamos Creative District will focus on sharing the unique creative heritage of Los Alamos with residents and visitors. • The development of the Los Alamos Creative District will serve as a catalyst for supporting and developing service, restaurant, retail and hospitality businesses within the proposed district. • The Los Alamos Creative District will improve our community’s capacity for economic benefit from visitation/tourism by creating a stronger, more focused argument for visiting and spending time in our downtown.
Steering Committee Goals • Enhanced collaboration between arts, cultural, community development, and governmental organizations and resources. • Completion of a place-based, cultural plan to guide coordinated action in moving the Los Alamos Creative Culture District from concept to reality. – Community engagement. Broad community acceptance and endorsement of the cultural plan. – Adoption of the cultural plan by Los Alamos County as a supporting plan to our approved Downtown Master Plan. – Acceptance by the related NM State Agencies and Commissions involved in the ACD process. Engagement of continuing support by the State of plan implementation.
