IN OUR COMMUNITY

Lac La Biche County Family & Community Support Services

(FCSS) is a partnership between Lac La Biche County and the Government of Alberta. The mandate of FCSS is to provide locally-driven, preventative social initiatives that enhance the well-being of individuals, families and the community. Our FCSS is one of 206 programs across the province providing services as outlined by a provincial FCSS Act and Regulation. All these programs collectively ensure Albertans have access to a strong network of preventative social supports. Our programs aim to establish a healthy community of empowered individuals, resilient youth, supported seniors, and healthy families. We also provide a mix of direct programs and grant funds to support community organizations. We are strengthening community partnerships and looking at barriers to increase social support systems in the community. We are working on strategies to reduce complex social issues like unstable housing and poverty.
