We start our journey just a short flight away in Mexico. Here, we stop at a few of the ultimate five-star luxury getaways that offer great food, extravagant pampering and fun-in-the-sun. From there, we’ll take you off-shore to some of the world’s finest tropical destinations. The first stop: Hawaii. Relax at the most luxurious resorts and take in the cool Pacific Ocean breeze. We’ll then take you further from the US Mainland with a trek to Fiji. fter five generations of rear-wheel-drive M5s, BMW’s heavy-hitting sport sedan will drive all four wheels for the first time ever in 2018. The new model is quicker and more powerful, but also more refined than the car it replaces. The 2018 BMW M5 gets the latest version of the automaker’s twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 tuned to 600 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, up 40 hp and 53 lb-ft from the last-gen M5. Peak power is reached between 5,700-6,600 rpm, and peak torque is available from 1,800-5,700 rpm. The engine is mated to a performanceoriented eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW estimates that the 2018 M5 can hit 60 mph from a standstill in 3.2 seconds, with the top speed capped at 189 mph when equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package. But the big news is the M5’s new M xDrive, the all-wheeldrive system with two-wheel-drive mode. The system defaults to all-wheel drive with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) turned on, but a rear-biased 2WD mode with no DSC is selectable. In this mode, the front wheels are only powered when traction is limited and the rear wheels can’t effectively put the power down by themselves. The addition of all-wheel drive might upset some purists, but

n the evening of August 29, Porsche presented a new generation of SUV which would be “Made in Slovakia” for the very first time. The new Cayenne model has a new, aluminum platform, with the wheelbase remaining the same. However, the new model is longer and lower than the current generation and about 65 kilograms lighter. The biggest technology novelty are the dashboard electronics with a voltage of 48 Volts. Thanks to this, the Cayenne can have several modern chassis systems. The carmaker claims that due to the chassis and gearbox technologies with short gears, the Cayenne will excel not just on the road but also off-road. Drivers will be able to choose road or one of four off-road modes: for driving in mud, on gravel, sand or rocks. The Cayenne also received a new type of brakes which will work better than the classic steel discs, last longer and create less dust. In the interior, we find the technologies we know from the brand’s other models, specifically the latest Panamera. The driver has night vision or modern assistance tools at their disposal, and a crew can use the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. The stronger Cayenne S model will be a six-cylinder with 2.9 liters, two turbos and 440 horsepower. This version has a maximum speed of 164 mph; and if one pays for the extra Sport Chrono package, it will be able to accelerate to 60mph in less than five seconds.

The concept shares a similar footprint to the current Q7 – it’s over five meters long and has a wheelbase of three meters – but is 40mm lower. A sloping roofline and tapered rear end mean the concept only has four seats, however the production version is expected to be available with a five-seat layout. Showcased as a plug-in hybrid e-tron model, the Q8 concept is powered by a 3.0-litre TFSI engine paired with an electric motor. The powertrain develops a combined 438bhp and 700Nm of torque. Audi claims 0-62mph takes 5.4 seconds and the car has a top speed of 155mph, while emitting 53g/km of CO2. On electric power alone, the Q8 concept can travel up to 37 miles, and the lithium-ion battery takes two and a half hours to fully recharge.

uillermo Zapata is the founder of the widely popular West Hollywood hotspot, SUR restaurant and lounge. Originally moving from Argentina keen on a career in acting and modeling, he put those dreams on hold when an opportunity arose to invest in a small discreet space on the iconic Robertson Boulevard. Guillermo renovated the space into a restaurant called SUR restaurant and lounge (sexy unique restaurant). For over a decade, SUR has been one of the go-to restaurants for celebrities like Al Pacino, Angelina Jolie-Pitt, Madonna, Sylvester Stallone, and other industry elite. In 2005, Guillermo’s restaurant caught the eye of restaurant entrepreneurs, and now reality TV stars, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd. They lent their design expertise to help rebrand SUR; however, Guillermo remains the force behind the restaurant. Guillermo’s experience and daily presence keeps the restaurant successful. After nearly twenty years and four expansions, SUR is known as the trendiest eatery of West Hollywood, having won the creative business award from CCA. We sat down with him to learn about his journey to success and what he has in-store for the future.

Q: What were the driving forces that brought you to Los Angeles in 1992?

GZ:

I am originally from Argentina and came to LA on a tourist visa when I was in my early 20’s. I was originally only supposed to stay for a few weeks but I realized LA was the place I need to be so I stayed here and I’ve never looked back. I have always been passionate about the arts and what better place to pursue the acting dream than Hollywood? Like most actors, the beginning of my acting and modeling career was very humble but now I’m lucky enough to be working consistently and with great brands and clients.

You’ve been on a nearly twenty-year journey with your restaurant SUR. How has it transformed over time, and what was that process like?

GZ:

SUR started out as a very small and local diner with only two employees and a chef. With hard work and word of mouth, our venue grew very popular in the inner circles of the Hollywood industry elite. It was a little secret meeting place at lunch for actors, publicists, and managers during the day. Then at night, it became a venue to celebrate some of the most famous movie stars’ birthdays and celebrations. The growing popularity of SUR allowed us to expand and become the restaurant it is now. We have over 80 employees and LADREAMS.COM

Influential Males our SUR is now over 10,000 square feet. We have not only loyal local clients, but also an international clientele that travel specifically to LA to visit SUR.

Q: Talk to us about your rise from dishwasher to internationallyrenown restaurateur and model/actor. How did you get to where you’re at today?

GZ:

I’ve always had big dreams and the persistence and determination to accomplish anything that comes my way. There is no challenge too big for me. With this mentality and consistent hard work, I was and am able to make my own American dream come true. I believe anyone can achieve whatever they want with a positive mentality and the hardworking mindset.

I am still working on producing Cat's Revenge, a film project that means a lot to me. I am also currently starring in a TV show, ASESINO, directed by Jose Maria Cicala.

Q: What are your aspirations and goals for your acting and modeling career?

GZ:

I am passionate about acting, it makes me happy. I like creating new characters, whether it be in movies, at a photoshoot, or even in real life. I think everyone should have something they are extremely passionate about. It fulfills you in ways you don’t realize. I hope to act and model in projects that I feel passionate about and to continue to work with great people.

Q: Where do you draw your inspiration from? GZ: Inspiration comes from everything. From the streets, from LA life, from traveling the world. I am always looking for inspiration.

Q: What piece of advice would you give to fellow entrepreneurs, creatives, and business owners?

GZ: Be patient, adventurous, positive, passionate and happy. Enjoy your success when it comes and always stay humble. ◆
