On Oct. 2, the nonprofit Girls in the Know hosted its annual Let’s Hear It for the Girls brunch at Majorette event venue in Maplewood. Guests were treated to a brunch buffet, cocktails, testimonials and raffles as part of the fundraiser for the organization, which seeks to empower girls to make healthy decisions as they grow through adolescence. Girls in the Know provides a workshop series with female experts discussing puberty, bullying, nutrition and other topics.

Girls in the Know’s thoughtful, unique approach to talking about empowerment, body image, safety and puberty makes our program a must-attend for every single preteen girl. Giving girls this information in the ways that we do gives them an added boost of self-confidence because being a preteen is already hard enough.
