Everybody Loves Our Town
In a small city with a huge sound; Seattle shocks the world, with its local bands rising from the garage, to gigs, to create legendary music, showing a new style making a stand in the cruel society. In 1986 Sub Pop started with local bands: Green River, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, and TAD. It released compilation albums “Sub Pop 100” and “Sub Pop “Sub pop 200” came with a 20-page booklet with pictures, Sub Pop also made a catalogue and gave it to nation’s alternative-rock intelligentsia. MTV, and radio stations play grunge music more and more. MTV bargained its viewers, also Hollywood made grunge scene movies, and even well-known magazines were covered with the grunge bands. Young people started to notice how fast the genre gradually made progress. When Bruce left the company in 1996, Sub Pop joined Warner Music.
