FOSTER DIVERSITY

Embrace all walks of life. Celebrate differences. Create opportunities to learn about and experience different cultures. More and more, Americans say living in a diverse community that includes people at all stages of life is an important factor in determining where to live.

HYPOTHETICAL RESIDENTS Mahima: Young wife and mother who prefers living within walking distance of shops, stores, and social activities. She favors a small yard for her children to play and to plant a garden.

Jensen’s: They prefer living in a house with a yard and a shorter commute to downtown Boise, where he works. Proximity to parks is important, as well as connecting with neighbors.

Steven: A young college student who prefers a rental with no yard, and close proximity to shops and work. He also favors a shorter commute to campus.

Shani: A young mother and refugee. She prefers a house with a yard big enough for a vegetable garden, that is within a short walking distance to shops and work.

Jenn: A young professional who prefers a house with a garage, no yard, and a short commute to work. She prefers nearby recreational opportunities to keep up on her fitness.

Rod & Bonnie: Prefer a small house in a safe neighborhood. They want a yard for their grandchildren to play, to plant a garden, and for their dog to run.
