realize that there are many hard to understand passages that require a lot of digging and study to reach the right conclusion of interpretation and application. However, please do not allow that to deter you from the clear truths of God's Word that are readily understandable to most readers. I love the Nativity narratives found in Scripture. The recorded stories of the first coming of Christ from Heaven to earth fulfilled the Old Testaments prophecies foretold hundreds of years before the event taking place. There are several things that
really captivate myattention in these stories, and I would like to share onewith you. I like how the angelic host declared the coming of Christ and that the good news of joy that He was coming to offer was "to all people" and not to a select few. I like how God included the wealthy Magi that invested enormous resources to come and worship Jesus, the King of the Jews, because of a star that they had seen from the east where they were from. I also love how God sent these angels to give a personal invite to the blue collar, working class of shepherds who were dutifully "keeping watch over their flock by night." The invitation to come and worship Jesus,"a Saviour who is Christ the Lord", was extended and responded to by the upper class and the lower class of that day' s society. I am so glad that God included both ends of the spectrum. Today, the gift of faith in Jesus as a Saviour from our sins is offered to all people. Today, trusting Christ as your personal Messiah is available to the upper class, the lower class, and everyone in between. I love how the angels message from God toman isworded.They said,"unto you is born this day", and that is precisely what had happened and what can be made personal today in biblical Salvation. Jesus left His eternal home and abode from His eternal existence for us, not for Himself. Jesus was incarnated in human form from His eternal state, so He could suffer as a sacrifice for our sins, not for His benefit. He was born unto mankind, who were fallen in sin since the first man Adam had lost our original condition by his sinful choice. He was born unto mankind so that mankind could have the opportunity to benefit from God's only remedy for their sinful deeds and sinful condition. God's plan for any person to have a home in Heaven is to receive this Jesus as their Christ and Saviour by faith so His sacrifice for sin can pay their debt of sin against God. This is the original Christmas gift! Merry Christmas!
