Swimming for Safety was initially launched by Hue Help, a UK registered, locally based charity. In 2011 they collaborated with the UK Swimming Teacher’s Association (STA) to organize swim training courses for 30 teachers who then taught 1,200 school children in Phu Loc district how to swim. In 2014, Hue Help is continuing this project which plans to provide swimming training for the next generation of secondary school students. The number of total students in Phu Loc district is around 11,000. Having aligned with the Laguna Lăng Cô Triathlon 2014, Laguna Lăng Cô was successful in fundraising $1,200 for 170 more students to join the swimming lessons this summer. Laguna Lăng Cô continues to encourage and call for donation by cash or equipment; just $7 provides swim training for one child. Laguna Lăng Cô also continues to hold several activities to improve awareness for guests and associates. In-house guests can get involved by: - Joining swimming lessons that would be conducted in Banyan Tree swimming pool in the latter half of 2014 - Joining the swimming classes that would be conducted in local schools from May to September 2014 Contact: Nga.Ha@lagunalangco.com
