The Laguna Lăng Cô Triathlon is back In Press Releases | on December 25, 2013
After a successful inaugural edition, the second Laguna Lăng Cô Triathlon will take place on Saturday, 29 March 2014 at Vietnam’s first integrated resort Laguna Lăng Cô in central Vietnam. Featuring a 1.8k swim, 62k bike and a 12k run, the triathlon will be complemented by a team relay, a duathlon, and a bike race in the afternoon.
2013 Race Review The inaugural Laguna Lăng Cô Triathlon took place on 14 April 2013 with close to 250 athletes taking part in the various events. The men’s race was won by Italian Massimo Cigana who took home the USD 3,000 winner’s prize money. Australian four times world champion Chris ‘Macca’ McCormack came second with fellow Australian Justin Granger taking the last podium spot. Course The triathlon will start at beautiful Laguna Lăng Cô beach with a one lap swim. The bike portion of the race will take athletes on a scenic ride around the villages of Phu Loc, around An Cu lagoon and then back through Lăng Cô town. The run will be two laps through Banyan Tree Lăng Cô and around Laguna Lăng Cô’s award-winning Nick Faldo designed golf course. The transition and finish will both be located within Laguna Lăng Cô.
