CONCEPT The area surrounded by the resort faces the confluence of the Sergipe River with the Atlantic Ocean. The areas of the two greatest natural beautyis where one of the most beautiful animal lives, the stingray, which became an inspiration for the project’s name. The project was developed based on the studies of the area’s flow, ventilation and insulation to adapt all the rooms to the best use of natural resources which resulted in the positioning of the main building. It is positioned facing the river and main avenue, facilitating air circulation and public access to it. Based on a horizontal construction with lots of free areas that offer amenities to all ages and interests, tthe intent of this project is mainly based on providing pleasure to families as well as a productive working environment for business travellers. The project proposes a set of buildings such as: The Main Building (with a variety of room sizes, styles and prices for all), Bungalows (for those who want to stay near the pool and courts and enjoy the atmosphere offered by an original Resort), Food Hall and Events. This clever offsetting of spaces stretches the relative distance between apartments, pools, bungalows, and the other buildings, offering a large variety of outdoor spaces and increasing each room’s privacy. All while staying within the constraints imposed by the existing city urban plan.

CONCEPT This project was developed for an area of easy access, in front of the main avenue of the neighbourhood. Also, the Bateias Lagoon is situated in the Southeast in relation to the land, just 24 metres away. This Local Centre is proposed to function as an open and multifunctional space projected for the popular trade with characteristics of an anti-shopping centre. The project consists on the idea of an open mall that gives continuity to the urban fabric, with no walls or front grilles. There is a central circulation that ends in an open Food Hall overlooking the neighbourhood and the Bateias.
Lagoon, opposing the idea of the urban islands’ formation in the cities. T he intent is to take advantage of the three meters of the land’s unevenness without making large movements of land, reducing the construction costs. The stores and circulations were developed from the modulation of the half-buried garage’s metallic structural pillars, and the open Food Hall was inserted at the end of the building with the objective of offering the customers a beautiful view of the Bateias Lagoon and its neighbourhood as well as providing this interaction among nature, people and the building.

BUILDING COVERINGS The slab used to cover the stores, rooms, snack bars and garage in the enterprise
project was the Steel Deck slab, because this material behaves well with the metal tructure and it has also a good cost benefit. In the common circulation area was used metallic trusses cover, covered with corrugated sandstone tile matte, and at the ends of the cover rows were designed gaps made out of transparent tiles wavy sandwiches. It was designed for l ighting purposes, facilitating energy savings and reducing the monthly cost of the building.
