1.3 The needs for this project Why this project? The common goal of Expos is to increase public awareness and share change to encourage progress and transfer expertise in its field, and in the era of the modern state of Jordan's history, there are many achievements in all areas such as: • It has been 100 years since the founding of Jordan's modern history. • The number of schools in Jordan has reached 7,633 by 2021. • The number of Universities in Jordan has reached 10 Government Universities, 19 Private Universities and 44 colleges. • The illiteracy rate has decreased since the founding of the state to 5.2% in 2020 compared to 88% in 1952. • Salt Secondary School is the first school in Jordan and was established in 1925. • The first Jordanian university was established in 1962 and was called the University of Jordan, with 8 faculty members 149male and 18 female students. • The establishment of the first governmental hospital in the year 1921, containing about (20) beds. • The number of hospitals and beds increased until the total number of government hospital beds reached (60) while the number of private hospital beds was (99) in 1927. • The opening of the first pharmacy in 1925 in Amman. • Establishing the first medical analysis laboratory in Jordan in 1927 in Ma'an. • By the end of 2021, the number of hospitals in Jordan had reached 126 with 17,872 beds. • In the economic aspect, Jordan has developed significantly in the 21st century, as the number of operational implemented projects reached 308,721 in 2020 compared to 154,098 in 2006. • There are more than 20,000 archaeological sites in Jordan of which 100 are officially registered with the Department of Antiquities, and 6 of them are officially registered on the World Heritage List. • Jordan has passed through 23 civilizations, which led to the diversity of its architectural and cultural style. • Jordan is one of the largest countries in the Middle East and is abundant in agricultural crops.
