A letter-writing campaign designed to show appreciation for local law enforcement is under way at Ramona High School. Teacher and student government director Mona Snodgrass said the idea for the campaign came from three pupils enrolled in her Associated Student Body Leadership class. The students are Community Relations commissioners Jillian Hermes, Brandon Hankins and Jacob Powers. Together, the commissioners said, “The large idea of this project is to show law enforcement that even in this day and age, the community and students support our law enforcement. Ramona Design Review Board saw plans for a new senior residential care home and a medical marijuana grow operation, and voted in a new board member at its Oct. 29 meeting. Jamil presented a site plan for property at 123640 H St. where the former Broad Horizons, a residential substance abuse treatment center for teens, operated. for some changes with the YVVÅPUL HUK ZPKL LSL]Htion, and asked for color boards for exterior paint colors. The board postponed voting until its next meeting, which will be held Nov. 19, instead of the last Thursday in November due to Thanksgiving. A preliminary plan for a medical marijuana facility at 2338 Montecito Road was presented by Sapphire Blackwood of Green Capital Ventures, Inc. She said the 4.7-acre site is zoned industrial and has a 2,700-square-foot steel structure in which they plan to grow the marijuana plants. Blackwood said there are no plans to add a dispensary. “Only a grow operation,” she said. Design review member Rex Gammon asked if they would be running a lot of air conditioning for the plants and said he was concerned about the noise it would create and allnight lighting. Noting the operation

would be inside a steel structure, Blackwood said, “There’s no residents in the area. It’s all zoned industrial.” Member Carol Close PKLU[PÄLK [OL SVJH[PVU HZ a former eucalyptus tree farm that is on the airport side of Montecito Road, about 1,000 feet before the airport. When Close asked how many growers would use the operation, Blackwood said that has not been determined. Scotty Ensign expressed concerns about the possibility of people trying to steal pot and said he would like to see what the plans are for security, such as outside barriers and lighting. Board members also asked about drainage, noting there is protected habitant including vernal pools behind the property. ;OL ZP[L PZ VUL PKLU[PÄLK by the county for a medical marijuana operation, Blackwood said. Letters Stars on two hills Regarding the letters addressing Dr. Homesley’s STAR: Many years ago, a large star was shining on the hill east of the Gillespie Airport at Christmas time. Due to its aging and the need of repair and the health of the owner, it was NOT lit one year. You would not believe that some people had the GUTS to write in to the local paper and complain! This star was very large. Dr. Homesley lives on a hill, in a big house, pays a big property tax and electric bill. Have any of you looked at your electric bill and seen what tier 3 and 4 cost per kilowatt? She probably makes a reasonable income, she’s not rich by the standards of most of us living in the San Diego Country Estates. The community garden received a $1,700 grant. Ace said this shows that “private organizations and public entities can work together.”

The representative for Taco Bell, which is proposed for the former Big Apple Bagels site at 1925 Main St., could not attend, but asked Lewallen to present their plans. Lewallen, who is involved in the project, had to recuse himself from the board. According to the plans, parking spaces in back of the building would be eliminated for a drive-through in which a vehicle would have to make a 90-degree turn in 22 feet. Members said that appeared too tight and would create a bad circulation element. The item was tabled.

Arts & Entertainment Big ensemble numbers highlight well-done ‘Dolly’ at Welk By ELIZABETH MARIE HIMCHAK It is worth the drive to Escondido to greet Welk Resorts’ latest theatrical offering, “Hello, Dolly!” which can be seen through Nov. 15. Cynthia Ferrer plays the title character of Dolly Levi, a fast-talking matchmaker and widow who has set her sights on the wealthy — but cranky and miserly — store owner Horace Vandergelder (played by Randy Doney). The musical, set in 1890 New York City, has Horace in search of a wife, not for love, but to “cheerfully” do all the household chores. He is also trying to keep his young niece, Ermengarde (Jeni Baker), away from Ambrose Kemper (Fisher Kaake), a young artist whom Horace does not believe can support Ermengarde if they marry. Dolly claims to be helping Horace marry hat maker Irene Molloy (Charlene Koepf), when in reality she is trying to prevent their engagement in order to marry Horace herself. To do this she ensnarls Horace’s naive clerks, Cornelius Hackl (Scott Arnold) and Barnaby Tucker (Andrew J. Koslow), into her plot by having them meet Irene and her assistant, Minnie (Bailey Sonner), at the hat shop shortly

Ramona High School head football coach Damon Baldwin isn’t happy that the Bulldogs lost their Oct. 30 home game against Rancho Bernardo by a 38-7 score, but he is happy with his team’s performance. “We played a great half of football,” Baldwin said. A rushing touchdown by Keyno Crichlow and the kick for the extra point by Hunter Gurrola gave Ramona a 7-0 lead against the Broncos, who are ranked HTVUN [OL JV\U[`»Z [VW Ä]L teams and improved their overall record to 7-2 and their Palomar League mark to 2-1 with the win. The Bulldogs had the ball a yard away from the goal line before Rancho Bernardo’s defense stopped Ramona to preserve the 14-7 lead, which became the halftime score. “Our bruised and battered Bulldogs were matching them. We were in the game,” Baldwin said. Injuries have depleted a Ramona roster that was young at

the beginning of the season. In addition to inexperience issues, many Ramona players are playing both on offense and on defense — which was to the Bulldogs’ disadvantage when Rancho Bernardo was able to outlast Ramona during the second half. “We got worn down,” Baldwin said. Ramona is in Division I for CIF playoff purposes, and all Division I teams are guaranteed entry into the CIF playoffs. “The next morning we wake up and we’re 0 and 0. We’ve got a fresh start trying to win the championship,” Baldwin said. Baldwin believes that a win over Carlsbad will give the Bulldogs, who will enter that contest with a 4-5 overall season record, a post-season home game. “We’re just going to take it one game at a time,” he said.

NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call (844) 477-7869 or visit this Internet Web site WWW.STOXPOSTING.COM, using the file number assigned to this case 028929-CA. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. FOR SALES INFORMATION: (844) 477-7869. CRC TS#028929-CA. Publish: Ramona Sentinel 10/29/2015, 11/5/2015, 11/12/2015.
