Day 1 (Saturday, 9-Feb) – Lake Charles: Arrive in the "City by the Lake", Lake Charles, Louisiana. Spend the day browsing the historic downtown district with it's collection of quaint shops and restaurants. Don't forget to visit the Mardi Gras Museum that houses one of the largest collection of Carnival Costumes in Louisiana! Later, take a stroll on the boardwalk along the lake and watch boats sail by and soak in the sun. If gambling is your entertainment preference, visit one of several local casinos that are sure to please the gambling fanatic! Dinner at Pujo St. Café.

Day 2 (Sunday, 10-Feb) – Lake Charles: 11AM-2PM: If you want to truly experience the cuisine that made Louisiana famous, this is perhaps the one event you don't want to miss The Taste de la Louisiane! 3PM: View the "Children's Parade" in downtown Lake Charles before returning to your B&B or hotel to rest. 7:30PM: View the "Lighted Boat Parade". Be mesmerized by the lighted boat parade on beautiful Lake Charles.

Day 3 (Monday, 11-Feb) – Lake Charles (and surrounding area): After a leisure breakfast at your hotel or B&B, stop at the Welcome Center and obtain your Creole Nature Trail headset (in the language of your choice) and begin an unforgettable experience through this picturesque and untouched wilderness! Don't forget to stop at your local supermarket to pickup your favorite eatables to enjoy a picnic on this historic trail! Whether you spend an hour or several, you will certain to find an abundance of wildlife and fauna to have you spellbound for years to come! Evening free to dine at a local casual or fine dining establishment in historic downtown.

Day 4 (Tuesday-Mardi Gras!, 12-Feb) – Lake Charles: The biggest day of the year - Mardi Gras!!! Noon: Krewe of Charlie Sioux Parade Block Party - food, drinks, music & more fun! 1PM: Motorcycles, Hot Rods & Classics Parades - a one-of-a-kind parade! 5:30PM: Krewe of Krewes - Hundreds of elaborate krewe floats and costumes wind through downtown Lake Charles culminating the Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) grand celebration!
