Zumba Kids features the famous Zumba Fitness mucis, rhythms, and beats along with Zumba choreography broken into kid-friendly routines. Begin with a seated breath meditation and a gentle warmup, then flow through a wave or two of sun salutations before settling onto the ground and sinking deeper into grounding postures. This well-rounded yoga class is topped off with a guided meditation and a short massage. At the end of our practice, we feel relaxed and strong, centred and energized. This class is suitable for those who are able to participate in sun salutations and balancing postures.
Join this gentle yoga class to learn how you can find joy in movement and deep relaxation. Together we will explore how we can develop awareness of our body and breath. A guided meditation and a neck massage round up this class. Suitable for all levels, introducing basic poses and breathing exercises. More experienced students who want to slow down and get deeper in their practice are welcome as well.

Practiced diligently, tai chi can improve balance and circulation and flexibility, leading to improved health and a sense of greater vitality. This tai chi exercise follows the style of Master Moy Lin-Shin, emphasizing turning and stretching to open the joints and massage the internal organs. Yin Yoga is a style of yoga designed to get deep into your connective tissue and create space in the major joints of the body, as well as stetch your muscle fascia. In this class you will be holding postures for 3 to 5 minutes. Although the postures are relaxing in nature, the stretches are deep. Progressive Tennis Wednesdays Red Ball 4:00-4:45pm | Orange Ball 5:00-6:30pm Location: Woodsdale Tennis Courts Progressive Tennis uses a system of modified courts, racquets and balls scaled to maximize learning for different levels and age groups. Scaling the game down to the size of the child speeds up the learning process and makes the game more fun. Bring your own racquet, running shoes (no sandals) and water bottle. Loaner racquets are available if required. Two levels are offered: RED BALL (Suitable for kids age 6-8): Introduces the foundational skills of tennis with an oversized lowcompression ball on a smaller court. In two evenings get started on the fascinating hobby of whittlin'! Using just a pocket knife, learn the basic procedures that can turn firewood into art. This class is suitable for both beginners who want to learn a new skill and those with some experience who will pick up some valuable help with more detailed techniques. All tools and materials are provided, and knives are available for purchase. Participants may wish to also sign up for the Sharpening class, as sharp knives are essential for this craft.
Pre-requisites; basic obedience skills (dog is able to sit, go down, hold position, and walk politely on leash). Dogs should be at least 9 months and handlers 16 years.
Sharpening
Develop your relationship with your dog in a fun way. Dogs of all types and sizes can enjoy agility.This course uses positive reinforcement throughout, with the emphasis on practicing techniques with the use of some basic agility equipment (tunnels, jumps and table). At the end of this course we hope your dog will enthusiastically look forward to your training sessions and that you’ll have discovered how to keep your dog motivated & focused. Take a culinary tour this fall. Four one-night cooking demonstration classes are offered – pick just one or enjoy them all! At each session, techniques and recipes will be demonstrated, with tasting for everyone.
This free presentation by the Lake Country Museum takes you on a visual tour of Lake Country: the earliest days of the Okanagan Syilx people’s traditional sites, the first ranchers and settlers, the Vernon-Okanagan Mission Stagecoach Road, lake transportation and sternwheelers, the orchard industry and early packinghouses, and the abandoned settlement and gold mines of Fir Valley. Donations will be appreciated at the class for Lake Country Museum projects.

There is a deep tradition of vegetarian cooking in Indian cuisine. Taste chana (chick pea) masala with spinach, accompanied by basmati rice pilaf and caramelized onionstuffed naan bread. A wonderful symphony of flavours!

Natural Soap Making Monday & Tuesday 7:00-8:30pm Location: GESS Room 119 This two-evening course will teach you everything you need to know to make your own luxurious natural soap creations using the Cold Process method of combining oils (coconut, palm, olive) with lye. While the soap making portion is a demonstration, participants will customize their bars with provided scents, botanicals and extras. On the second night we cut the soap into bars and learn about curing, handling and packaging for gift ideas. All supplies included, and each participant will take home 10 bars of soap and the skills to make their own soap using the Cold Process method.
