OUR HISTORY

CHANGING LIVES Our history is a blending of two great camp

legacies. For over 143 years Conference Point Center has been a place for people to gather, build relationships and seek spiritual rest. Throughout the years we have ministered to guests through selfless staff and memorable retreats. In 1950, Lake Geneva Youth Camp and Conference Center opened with the purpose of sharing God’s love to children in an environment away from the distractions of city life. Thousands of people have been served through our many camp programs and conference facilities. 2010 saw a formal partnership between these two ministries under the leadership of Lake Geneva Foundation; joining the camps in a unified mission, vision and purpose.

OUR VISION: To be a nationally recognized Christian Camp and Retreat organization impacting our 50,000 guests through outstanding programs and partnerships

Today, the vision is stronger than ever. Lake Geneva Youth Camp & Conference Center and Conference Point Center exist to provide a place set apart for campers and guests to have life-changing experiences. It is a place surrounded by God’s beautiful creation, filled with intense fun, and packed with real life experiences, challenges and relationships that draw people closer to God. The life-changing power of a camp experience is undeniable. Today, like never before, youth and teens are bombarded with a myriad of conflicting messages from family, friends, and public role models – confronting them with obstacles and pressures many are unprepared to deal with. Lake Geneva Foundation’s youth camps and conference programs give students, and even adults, the much needed opportunity to pull away and get a breather – to catch a vision for the bigger picture of their lives.

Transformed lives.

At camp, young people have the mental room to consider some of the most important issues of life. This break from the craziness of their regular routine allows our campers to think about their future, to evaluate unhealthy patterns, to build character and integrity, and to discover the truth that God loves them and has an amazing plan for their lives.

Friendships.

Positive relationships can make all the difference in a kid’s life. Friendships with caring adults and other campers can last a lifetime and provide a connection that helps young people navigate the challenges of life.

Leadership.

Carefully selected staff, counselors and mentors coming alongside campers and sharing in meaningful conversations help them think through decisions and process various life experiences. Guests are equipped with a safe, positive environment to cultivate their leadership qualities while gaining valuable direction.

Discovery.

Guests explore nature, participate in new adventures and test their limits in a healthy, safe environment, surrounded by caring staff and friends, in the grandeur of God’s creation. The overpowering sights and sounds of the digital world stifle personal reflection and creativity, while our natural setting and challenging programs create moments for self-awareness and creative thought.
