Why did you choose Lakehead-Georgian?

I was raised in Orillia, Ontario, and I came into this program fresh out of high school. My shop teacher recommended it to me. He said I’d get all the theoretical learning in class, and then in the labs I would learn how to apply the theory. I also liked the opportunity to earn a degree and diploma together.

What do you enjoy about Lakehead-Georgian?

I definitely enjoy the classes. The class sizes are fairly small. I find it better for me, personally, because I’m able to get that one-on-one time with my professors. All our professors know us by our first names. The drive our professors have definitely reflects on the drive that we as students show.

I also really like that you have access to services and events at both Lakehead University and Georgian College. Not only do you have the opportunity to meet your peers at each campus, but you also have the opportunity to access supports and services that will help you be successful.

The community at Lakehead-Georgian is very involving. Everybody wants you to succeed. If you need help there are tutors available. There are instructors and professors that will stay after class to help you. They’re more than willing to make sure that you’re successful in your field.
