My favourite thing about Lakehead is the students. The campus is so diverse and being able to talk to others from around the world, seeing and hearing different perspectives, all while learning a variety of different cultures and practices makes everyday a truly unique experience.

Katelyn Cribby ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, 2024

I chose Lakehead for several reasons. These include the abundant opportunities to perform undergraduate research, the incredibly generous entrance scholarships, the relatively small class sizes, and the ability to stay in my hometown.

The Interdisciplinary Studies program gave me so much choice and allowed me to combine all my passions into one degree! I was even able to minor in Gender and Women's Studies to add more to my degree.

Gillian Woods INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES, 2024

My favorite memory so far is completing my first Integrated Circuit design and having it manufactured and tested at the university lab. I was very proud that all the work my peers and I put into the project resulted in a functional design that could be published in academia. The hands-on, practical experience in the lab has been so rewarding!

Pierre Leduc ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, 2024

There is a lot of experiential learning opportuinities in the Indigenous Learning program, which offers another layer of obtaining knowledge that is very hands-on and informative. We often did smudging, created Indigenous art, and were visited by many elders who offered their guidance to us. This type of learning is high quality.
