Part-Time Student Opportunities

Why Choose Part-Time Schooling at LCS?

Elementary Options

Biblical Integration...Extensive Course Offerings...Award-Winning Fine Arts...Championship Athletics...Knowledgeable and Caring Teachers... Safe Environment...Awesome Extracurricular Activities

Lakeland Christian School offers various part-time options to elementary students in grades 3-5. Parents are encouraged to contact Mrs. Luci O’Byrne, Elementary Principal, to discuss a plan that will meet your child’s specific needs.

Lakeland Christian School is committed to God’s truth and academic excellence. We are committed to preparing our students not only for the classroom but also for life. The foundation of a biblical worldview is integrated into every subject area and every activity. There are several reasons why you might consider a part-time education at Lakeland Christian School for your child: • Your child needs to take a course at a level that you feel is beyond your ability to teach. • Every subject is taught from a Christian worldview by caring and dedicated teachers. • Your student wants to be involved with an athletic team or one of our award-winning fine arts programs. • Your child is interested in one or more of our elective course offerings. • You feel that your student would benefit from the everyday social interactions available in a traditional school setting. • The tuition for a part-time student is currently more realistic for your family.

Admissions Standards Our admissions standards reflect our commitment to serve as a partner with the home and the local church in the Christian education of our students. We ask that our admissions standards are met by our students and their families. You can find these standards on the LCS website at www.lcsonline.org/apply-to-lcs/.

Secondary Options Part-time students at the secondary grade levels (grades 6-12) may take a maximum of three classes at Lakeland Christian School. Of these three courses, a Bible class is required. Students may take one or more of the core subjects such as math, English or science in addition to Bible. Another option is to take one of the many dual enrollment courses or to select from numerous electives. Study hall periods do not count as one of the three classes. For a complete curriculum guide of our course offerings, visit the LCS website: www.lcsonline.org/parent-resources For students interested in athletic participation, the Florida High School Athletic Association requires three classes for eligibility to compete. For more information or to discuss part-time options, please contact Dr. Keith Overholt, Secondary Principal, at koverholt@lcsonline.org or at 863-688-2771. If you are interested in a homeschool partnership geared towards advanced project-based learning, the LCS RISE Institute provides the opportunity for students to engage in acccelerated learning through independent scientific research, engineering challenges, engagement with law and public policy, design (photograpy and film) and entrepreneurship. Contact Jennifer Canady (863.688.2771 or jcanady@lcsonline.org) or visit www.lcsrise.com.
