Chess Knights: 9:00 AM -12:00 PM Price: $125.00 This camp will provide instruction in all phases of the game of chess. It will be filled with fun activities, competition, learning about the historic figures of the game and game variations like team chess and Chess4. Students will learn about character through the Knight’s Code of Chivalry.

Students who have completed grades K4-8 are invited to attend the LCS Chess Camps. The curriculum will be tailored to the ages and abilities of the students. There are two different camps: Games of Strategy and Chess Knights. There will be a lunch break between sessions.

At film camp, students will get a hands-on experience with every aspect of filmmaking. Students will learn acting, editing and even film music production! For boys who have completed grades 4-7

This camp is for boys who already have basketball skills and want to improve individual skills and game play or for those who want to learn more about the game in general. The camp will run from 9 AM to 12 PM (Tuesday to Thursday) and from 4-7 PM on Friday. The daily schedule includes warm up activities, devotional time, group and individuals skills training (shooting, passing, dribbling and defense) as well as game play (1on-1, 2-on-2, 3-on-3 and full court). Participants will be grouped according to age and skill levels. Registration includes a t-shirt.

Are you looking for a fun way to enhance your child’s writing skills? The LCS Summer Writing Camp is a great way to make your child a better writing. There will be fun and engaging projects to enhance daily writing activities including: • • • • •

This camp will place an emphasis on grasp development, in-hand manipulation skills and strength. Introducing #CampLCS!

Math camp children will participate in games, activities and projects that foster and develop their math skills, They will also work on math concepts and improve their problem solving skills.

Lakeland Christian School is pleased to announce a brand new summer program, #CampLCS! This flexible summer camp option will be held for six weeks in June and July.

CAMP GREEN SCREEN JUNE 12-16 | 9:00 AM -12:00 PM | $150.00 For students who have completed grades 3-4 (Limited to 15 students) “Camp Green Screen” will foster friendships while developing fun, special effects videos through the use of green screen technology. Campers will discover their inner “techie” as they create one-of-a-kind videos using iPad technology. Students will develop cooperations and communications skills as they collaborate with partners in designing storyboards and videos based on their own individual interests. The week will culminate with presentations of the campers’ masterpieces.

Designed for students who have completed K5 through 5th grade, the camp will include a theme-of-the-week, lots of games, crafts, parties, snacks, sports and more. Each day will start off with a time of worship and devotions. Special guest speakers will come throughout the week, and the week will also include field trips around Lakeland. #CampLCS will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Parents can choose to send their child for a full day or half day, and there will also be before and after care options for those who need it. Before care will be offered from 7:20-9:00 AM and after care will be offered from 3:00-6:00 PM. Students staying for the full day will need to provide their own sack lunches each day, Monday through Thursday. There will be a pizza party each Friday. MUSIC CAMP JUNE 5-9 | 9:00 AM -3:00 PM | $150.00* For students who have completed grades 2-6 *$175.00 after May 19

The annual LCS Music Camp will be held in the LCS cafeteria from 9 AM to 3 PM each day. This camp is sponsored by the LCS Music Department and offers a variety of classes to students who have completed grades 2-6. The camp will conclude with a program at 1 PM on Friday, June 9. Students who attend Music Camp will learn composing, creating, choreography, vocal technique, how to play unique instruments, harmonization and rhythm. There will be team competitions, relays, team-building activities and lots of prizes! Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Enchanted Version) will be absolutely magical on stage next fall. Interested students will have the opportunity to audition during music camp. Students who are cast will sing four songs (Prologue, “The Prince is Giving a Ball,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” and “The Sweetest Sounds.”) The entire cafeteria will be transformed into a ballroom as all cast members dance to the “Gavotte” and “The Cinderella Waltz.” Several musical camp students will also be chosen to play mice, a dove and Charles the cat. Music Camp auditions will give you the opportunity to experience the magic for yourself! Registration includes a t-shirt, drinks, snacks and a pizza lunch on Friday. Campers must bring their own sack lunch on Monday through Thursday.

ART & SCIENCE OF COOKING 101 JUNE 5-9 | 9:00 AM -12:00 PM | $150.00 For students who have completed grades K5-5 (Limited to 20 students) This camp will teach children basic cooking skills such as measuring, mixing, following a recipe and preparing ingredients. We will be cooking each day and then eating our creations. We will also explore how ingredients work together and the science behind their interactions. Each child will receive their own apron and class cookbook. Children will be encouraged to explore new foods and new skills. Note: if your child has a food allergy, please let us know! This is a developmental skills camp with an introduction to fundamentals and principles of soccer. Small group play and games will make this camp fun and entertaining for the developing soccer player. Students will work with the LCS coaching staff and varsity athletes in a friendly, fun and Christ-centered atmosphere.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL CAMP JUNE 12-15 (Mon.-Thurs.) | 9:00 AM -12:00 PM | $75.00 For boys who have completed grades 5-7

The purpose of the Viking football camp is to provide individualized instruction in all fundamentals of football. Offensive and defensive skills will be worked on during the week. This camp will be led by members of the varsity coaching staff and is open to all boys who have completed grades 5-7. The daily schedule includes warm-ups and devotions led by various coaches. Bring tennis shoes, cleats (non-metal), and a marked water bottle. Gatorade and water will be provided.

Chess Knights: 9:00 AM -12:00 PM Price: $125.00 This camp will provide instruction in all phases of the game of chess. It will be filled with fun activities, competition, learning about the historic figures of the game and game variations like team chess and Chess4. Students will learn about character through the Knight’s Code of Chivalry.

Students who have completed grades K4-8 are invited to attend the LCS Chess Camps. The curriculum will be tailored to the ages and abilities of the students. There are two different camps: Games of Strategy and Chess Knights. There will be a lunch break between sessions.

At film camp, students will get a hands-on experience with every aspect of filmmaking. Students will learn acting, editing and even film music production! They will work in groups to create a promotional trailer and short film that they can show to family and friends. Spaces are limited, so sign up today! Camp Director: Jordan Burks
