Students who have completed 3rd to 5th grades are invited to attend the Half-Day Science Camp in the LCS Wonder Room featuring STEM, STEAM, Engineering, Design and more. Students will be involved with critical thinking, problem solving, engineering and design activities each day. On Friday, students will spend the day at LEGOLAND to be young engineers while participating in an educational adventure and experience their life-sized engineering designs. WRITING CAMP - $150.00
Boys and girls who have completed 1st to 3rd grades may attend this year’s Writing Camp. Students will review basic writing skills and learn new writing strategies to enable them to become proficient writers. Campers will learn how to craft precise sentences, paragraphs and stories while participating in fun and engaging activities such as painting, cooking, robotics, science experiments, puppet shows, iMovies and more! Students will also have the opportunity to meet award-wnning author Lisa McKendrick and learn what it takes to become an accomplished author. Camp Director: Debbie Stump

Students will learn all phases of the game of chess through fun activities, competition, lessons about historic figures of the game and game variations such as team chess and Chess4. MISSIONS CAMP - $150.00 JULY 16-20, 9 AM TO 12 PM

Students who have completed 2nd to 5th grades are invited to attend the first-ever missions camp at LCS. Missions Camp is a fun-filled week for students to learn how to be a missionary in their community while also learning about missions in other states and countries. Each morning will include mission-centered devotions and worship. There will be mission speakers either in person or by video for the students to learn about their stories and what God is doing through their work. Students will then prepare a craft or project to deliver to local places in our mission field. Trips will include visits to an assisted living facility, local businesses, doctors’ offices, and the children’s home. Students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We will be doing a lot of walking and activities on our feet. Snacks will be provided. Camp Director: Lydia Kinney

Throughout the week, students will explore a variety of topics including nature, horsemanship, robotics, beekeeping, shooting sports and more! Students will learn by doing to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to become competent, caring and contributing citizens of the world...all in the light of God’s Word! Cooperation and communication skills are developed as the students collaborate with partners in designing storyboards and videos based on their own interests. Music Camp 2018 will follow a brand-new format this year with the preparation and presentation of a complete dramatic mini musical, “On the Shoulders of Giants.” Join us as we pay tribute to leaders and heroes who have come before us and paved our way so we can live as we do today: Inventors, statesmen, literary giants, artists, teachers, soldiers, doctors, and those who worked for civil and human rights in their march for freedom. See how one child can change the world. All campers will be involved in various classes and workshops involving vocals, acting, choreography, set & prop building, and costume design and will present a complete program on Friday at 1:00 PM. There will be team competitions, relays, team-building activities and lots of prizes! Any camper who wishes to audition for the LCS Fall Musical, Seussical, Jr., will audition during Music Camp. Seussical, Jr. is an extremely fun show with fantastic fun music, great costumes and lots of roles! • Students entering Grades 3-4 will audition for circus performers/animals. They will sing in several songs, but they also have a feature song, “Solla Sollew.” • Students entering Grades 5-6 will audition for Whos. They will sing in several songs, but they also have feature songs, “Here on Who” and “The Whos Return.” • Students entering 7th Grade will audition for jungle citizens. These characters sing in several songs as well as these featured songs: “Horton Hears a Who,” “Biggest Blame Fool,” “Egg, Nest, and Tree,” and “The People Versus Horton the Elephant.” Jungle citizens have the opportunity to be double-cast as fish, waves, things, and hunters based on their vocal and choreography scores. • One young performer will be chosen to play Baby Kangaroo.

For students who have completed grades K4-8th Grade* Cost for 5-Day Week: Full Day - $175.00; Half Day - $100.00 Cost for 3-Day Week: Full Day - $100.00; Half Day - $75.00 Lakeland Christian School is pleased to announce the return of our summer program, Camp LCS! This flexible summer camp option will be held for six weeks in June and July. Designed for students who have completed K4 through 8th grade, the camp will include a theme-of-the-week, lots of games, crafts, parties, snacks, sports, water slides, Kona Ice and more. Each day will start off with a time of worship and devotions. Each week will include guest speakers, as well as field trips around Lakeland for movies, skating and/or bowling. Camp LCS will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Students may be dropped off starting at 7:30 AM. Parents can choose to send their child for a five-day or three-day week, and either for a full day or half day. Students staying for the full day will need to provide their own sack lunches each day, Monday through Thursday. There will be a pizza party each Friday. If your child turned five before September 1, 2017, they may attend Camp LCS field trips. If your child is still four years old, they may choose the three-day or five-day option but may not attend the field trips due to transportation guidelines and supervision ratios. 4-H FUSION CAMP - $300.00
JUNE 11-15, 8 AM TO 3 PM Limited to 20 students 4-H isn’t just for farmers! Boys and girls who have completed 3rd to 5th grades may attend the first-ever 4-H Fusion Camp at LCS! Throughout the week, students will explore a variety of topics including nature, horsemanship, robotics, beekeeping, shooting sports and more! Students will learn by doing to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to become competent, caring and contributing citizens of the world...all in the light of God’s Word! COOKING CAMP - $150.00 JUNE 11-15, 9 AM TO 12 PM
Limited to 28 students
Boys and girls who have completed K5 to 5th grades have the opportunity to learn to cook with an international flair at this year’s cooking camp! The campers will explore how flavors from around the world have influenced American cuisine. Students will learn about measuring, mixing, following recipes and preparing ingredients. We will be cooking and eating what we make each day. Students will also learn dining etiquette. Camp Directors: Kay Henry and Ashley Webb
GREEN SCREEN CAMP - $150.00 JUNE 11-15, 9 AM TO 12 PM

Boys and girls who have completed 3rd to 5th grades may attend this year’s Green Screen Camp. The week will foster friendships while developing fun, special effects videos through the use of green screen technology. Campers will discover their inner “techies” as they create one-of-a-kind videos through iPad technology. Cooperation and communication skills are developed as the students collaborate with partners in designing storyboards and videos based on their own interests. The week will culminate with presentations of the campers’ masterpieces. Camp Director: Kathy Mudger

Students who have completed 3rd to 5th grades are invited to sign up for the always-popular Full-Day Science Camp! Put on your safety glasses and lab coats for a week of interactive science experiments, activities and adventures that will make learning a blast! Students will be marine biologists, oceanographers, engineers, space explorers, zoologists and botanists over the course of the week as they develop critical thinking skills, inquiry-based learning strategies, communication skills, teamwork and so much more. Field trips include the Florida Aquarium, the Orlando Science Center, MOSI, Lowry Park Zoo and Colt Creek State Park. Camp Directors: Seth Miller and Sandy Nilius

Calling all mad scientists who have completed K5 to 2nd grades! Junior Scientists will embark on a series of science adventures through interactive and hands-on activities. HALF-DAY SCIENCE CAMP - $200.00
JUNE 25-29, 9 AM TO 12 PM (MON-THURS), 8 AM TO 6 PM (FRI)
Limited to 25 students
Students who have completed 3rd to 5th grades are invited to attend the Half-Day Science Camp in the LCS Wonder Room featuring STEM, STEAM, Engineering, Design and more. Students will be involved with critical thinking, problem solving, engineering and design activities each day. On Friday, students will spend the day at LEGOLAND to be young engineers while participating in an educational adventure and experience their life-sized engineering designs. WRITING CAMP - $150.00
Boys and girls who have completed 1st to 3rd grades may attend this year’s Writing Camp. Students will review basic writing skills and learn new writing strategies to enable them to become proficient writers. Campers will learn how to craft precise sentences, paragraphs and stories while participating in fun and engaging activities such as painting, cooking, robotics, science experiments, puppet shows, iMovies and more! Students will also have the opportunity to meet award-wnning author Lisa McKendrick and learn what it takes to become an accomplished author. Camp Director: Debbie Stump
CHESS KNIGHTS CAMP - $125.00 JUNE 25-29, 12-3 PM
Students who have completed K4 to 8th grades are invited to participate in the Chess Knights camp. Students will learn all phases of the game of chess through fun activities, competition, lessons about historic figures of the game and game variations such as team chess and Chess4. Students who have completed 2nd to 4th grades who want to enhance math skills in a fun way may attend the Sum & Fun Math Camp. Children will participate in games, activities and projects that foster and develop their math skills. They will also work on math concepts and improve their problem-solving skills. MISSIONS CAMP - $150.00 JULY 16-20, 9 AM TO 12 PM
Limited to 20 students
Students who have completed 2nd to 5th grades are invited to attend the first-ever missions camp at LCS. Missions Camp is a fun-filled week for students to learn how to be a missionary in their community while also learning about missions in other states and countries. Each morning will include mission-centered devotions and worship. There will be mission speakers either in person or by video for the students to learn about their stories and what God is doing through their work. Students will then prepare a craft or project to deliver to local places in our mission field. Trips will include visits to an assisted living facility, local businesses, doctors’ offices, and the children’s home. Students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We will be doing a lot of walking and activities on our feet. Snacks will be provided. Camp Director: Lydia Kinney
