NEW: 2+2 Transfer Partnership with EIU for English Majors
We are thrilled to work with EIU to create a high-quality pathway for area residents majoring in English to advance in their education.
Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University are partnering to provide new opportunities for students who are passionate about writing and English.
Starting this fall, Lake Land College students who graduate with an associate degree in English can seamlessly transfer to Eastern Illinois with junior status. This “two-plus-two” transfer plan ensures graduates are admitted into Eastern Illinois’ English programs and keeps them on pace for bachelor’s degree completion in just four additional semesters.
Students have the unique opportunity to select one of four areas of degree concentration: Professional Writing, English Studies, Literacy & Cultural Studies and Creative Writing.
“We are thrilled to work with EIU to create a high-quality pathway for area residents majoring in English to advance in their education,” Lake Land College President Josh Bullock said.

See Yourself in a Non-Traditional Career!
Non-traditional careers are skilled occupations in which one gender has little representation. For example, engineering, automotive and welding are all non-traditional career paths for women, while men represent less than 25% of careers in nursing, early childhood education and social work.
Choosing a non-traditional major can lead to exciting opportunities in growing industries and help you stand out from other job applicants. As a student in a non-traditional program, you can also access unique tutoring opportunities and receive financial aid for books, tools and other educational resources through the Perkins Program.
